What happened to the Raiders?
Last year they were building towards something
This year I thought top 4, for sure.
But they've been colossal flops? What's the G-O?
Serious question BTW

Mate, I wish I knew. We've all been scratching our heads.

I think it revolves around the fact that Drew is not a halfback, McLinden is not an organization half but more of a ball-runner, so we really have no one to organize the whole team. Our 5th tackle options are shocking. We still have one of the best forward packs in the comp, but beyong that, we haven't got much else going for us right now...

Yeah I never rated Drew at halfback
They need another option
Shame Matt Orford is after a whopping 500K for one season
It's a shame for a good honest team, Canberra are one of the only teams we play who I have no obvious target for drunken abuse from the sideline
It usually ends up the good ol' who ate all the pies to Brad Drew

Having said all that though
Not a bad side for this week
all the best

My attempt for some humble pie.

I am guessing Peach, Vags and Gallen will be out.

This is the team I would think Raper would go with.

After 20-25 mins Aitken comes on @ half and Sully and Hilder do the normal re-arranging.
Forwards to swap as required.

2 Nathan Merritt (GK)
19 Paul Franze
13 Phil Bailey (c)
4 Ryan McGoldrick
5 David Simmons
15 Daniel Dumas
7 Michael Sullivan
8 Chris Beattie
9 Matt Hilder
10 Danny Nutley
14 Matt Bickerstaff
12 Keith Galloway
14 Sam Isemonger
interchange
16 Andrew Lomu
20 Jason Williams
22 Reece Williams
17 Russ Aitken

Front Rower problem.
A few smaller issues secondary to the lack of a bopper, but that is their main problem.
Seconday issues include the adjustment they had to make to combat the boring style they implemented last year.
Most would have been awake to their game plan this year & renedered it useless.
They have not coped well.
Key injuries to big men haven't helped their consistency.
But they are a quality outfit that arent scared of the rough stuff.
Could be a fiery one.

Thats true. And now that Schifcofske isn't kicking anymore, we can't even crank up the old "TWO GRAND :clap::clap: TWO GRAND :clap::clap:" as the shot clock approaches 90 seconds...

How quickly we forget about Canberra rorting the Salary cap to steal premierships.

At least we've won a premiership!

Sorry, I'm sure that gets old just as it gets old to hear about that in 1990, it's all good.

But the good thing is , when we do win it, it won't be through a split comp, salary cap breach, writing new rules to suit ourselves, player wharehousing, 8 point try.
It will be a fair dinkum honest win.

Russ used to play fullback in flegg, didn't he?

No he wont play fullback. But he will play for sure if Peach is out. He'll just do Peach's ball playing from 5/8 instead of fullback.

If Peach isn't out, I'd say its 50/50 as to whether Aitken plays. Maybe he will come on after 20 and go to half, with Sully to hooker, but I'd say he's no certainty to stay in the final 17.

Its going to be an interesting match up anyway.
