JASON STEVENS; played well was running freely :D

DANNY NUTLEY; Worked hard until he got injured

ANDREW LOMU; Not one of his better performances. :(

PAUL GALLEN; Played well until he got injured

MATT HILDER; great game :D

Sullivan has definitely matured IMO. Last year he was prone to brain explosions, but tonight i thought he play controlled and within himself. Good stuff from the little fella. His darts out of the ruck are always going to trouble the oppositon

That's a pretty lenient assessment, 73. I thought the performance was pretty much sh*thouse. Don't forget - Richards, Marshall, Lanfranchi and Covell didn't play for the Tiges. Lots of points there. Sure one or two of our blokes played reasonably well. But where was the penetration, where was the GO-FORWARD teamwork, where was the forward defence when the Tigers were making big yards up the guts.
I was very, very disappointed in the performance. I expected a lot better.
Who dominated play for us? Only two blokes I reckon gave the Tigers much to worry about were Sully and Galloway.

I couldn't agree more Popper, we had a pathetic performance against sub standard opposition, Raper had better turn things around VERY quickly.

Pretty fair assessment - except I thought that Peachey was better than you say. Lomu shoudl go back to P.L. Franze, Vagana and Merritt will make a difference.

Also, this year I beleive ther'll be a better work ethic - we know we've got to lift ourselves off the bottom. On the other hand I reckon the only easy beat team will be Souths

My assessment:

Peach - a few good runs, but nothing too exciting.
Saleh - excellent game. Our best outside back by far. If he keeps it up, he can happily keep his spot in first grade.
Bailey - quiet game
McGoldrick - not great, targetted constantly by Elford
Rieck - nothing special, at least he didn't drop the ball.

Bird - A lot better running game. If he can work out his passing game then he might do okay. Nothing special.
Noddy - way too quiet, and his kicking game was off.

Beattie - not a bad game. The game wasn't lost in the forwards, so I can't criticize him too much.
Bosnich - some sloppy passing but not too bad overall.
Nutley - tireless.
Gallen - Did okay, until he came off.
Lomu - pass me the gun.
Hilder - usual tireless display.

Stevens - our best forward. Did some damage off the bench.
Galloway - Ran hard and wasn't out of place. Big things to come from him.
Isemonger - nothing special, but nothing too bad either.
Sullivan - best on the park. I'd keep him on the bench, if only because of the awesome impact he provides. He was shit last year, but if he keeps this form up I'll be extremely pleased.

DAVID PEACHEY; Fails to live up to the hype as usual - outplayed by hogson

HASSAN SALEH; a fair game

RYAN McGOLDRICK; time will tell

PHIL BAILEY; a hog

MATTHEW RIECK; didnt see much ball cause of the hog centers

GREG BIRD; crap

BRETT KIMMORLEY ordinary - therefor dissappointing - good in defence

JASON STEVENS; ran hard but more needed

DANNY NUTLEY; a more disciplined performance than usual

ANDREW LOMU; went ok - good to see offloads in the forwards shame there wasnt any back up

PAUL GALLEN; ill disciplined

MATT HILDER; ordinary

Interchange
CHRIS BEATTIE; slow

KEITH GALLOWAY; might get a regular spot with the two tortoises up front

SAM ISEMONGER; ordinary

MICHAEL SULLIVAN; spark? - id hate to be starting a fire

Over all It was a bad performance and needs to improve

more runners of kimmorley in attack and the wingers need to see some ball

Our backs were the problem tonight. Plenty of chances, but nothing to show for it. It was up to an eighteen year old prop forward to show them what a try is.

El Garbo, I agree the backs had nothing tonight. I think next week, Franz in for Bailey and Bailey in for Lomu and Merritt in for Saleh. this might fix that problem with the backs

Funny thing you should say that, Schnoz. I thought the same. Then I thought `No, Popper! You're being too hard on the lad.' Sure his tackling has improved, but where do you put him? I don't reckon he's a 5/8.

I reckon ya put him behind the bar at sharks leagues

A top move, Cheese. Or maybe doorman. He'd look good in black trousers, a long sleeved white shirt, and a light blue bow tie. :?
