Mullen not starting would be farcical. His kicking game wasn't superb last night, save for his brilliant field goal, but he's still a better playmaking option than Kurt. Does any opposition defence actually expect the ball to go to him on the last? At least Mullen being there kept defences guessing somewhat.

Kurt can play anywhere, just don't shunt Mullen back to the bench

I think we'll see:

1. Thaiday
2. Carney
3. Gidley
4. Carmont
5 Quinn
6. Kidley
7. Johns
8. Perry
9. Quigley
10. Woolnough
11. Simpson
12. Newton
13. Reynoldson
-
14. Davico
15. Smith
16. Mullen
17. Tanner

Or if Thaiday is injured:

1. Kidley
2. Carney
3. Gidley
4. Carmont
5 Quinn
6. Mullen
7. Johns
8. Perry
9. Quigley
10. Woolnough
11. Simpson
12. Newton
13. Reynoldson
-
14. Davico
15. Smith
16. Tanner
17. Lowrie/Abraham

If Simpson is out Reynoldson will move to second row, Tanner to lock and both Lowrie and Abraham will be on the bench with Smith and Davico.

Someone fill me in for next week!

If Dragons lose tonight, we play them next Friday?
If Bronco's lose tonight, we play them next Saturday?
I really need to know, I requested for a day off for Friday and hopefully it's played then.
But if it is played on a Saturday I will find a way to get around it, or an alternative is to call in sick!

Anyways
Kidley is a tackling machine, and a hard worker he must stay on the field by all means.
Why cant we have Hinton at fullback?

Hope Hages makes the right choices for next week.
Cant wait for next freaken week!!!!

If the Dragons lose tonight, and the Raiders and Eels both lose, then yes we play the Dragons next Friday. If the Broncos lose, chances are we play them next Saturday. We won't know for sure and certain until around about 6pm tomorrow night.

On the team, I am still not convinced at Kidley playing fullback. If Milton isn't fit, I know its a case of throwing him in the deep end, but Hinton would get the fullback spot if I was picking the team. His handful of games in FG this year, he has done nothing wrong. Kidley will be at five-eight, Quigley will be hooker (if Danny gets suspended.....) and Mullen will be on the bench.

I actually wouldn't mind that team. Kurt Gidley should be told to do the exact same thing he did against the Sea Eagles. Just take the ball and don't think about passing. Just back up and try to step and weave through traffic.

Thaiday can then come on and shift Kidley into hooker in attack, but leave Kidley in the back in defence. I still think that Kidley is probably better under the high ball than Thaiday.

Kind of a radical idea but it may work.

Thats definately the best idea ive heard, and kidley is definetly better under the high bal but thaiday is better in attack at fullback and kidley would make a good hooker 4 sure.

that is a great tactic i have to say!!!!

I'm still not a fan of Kidley at fullback. He fielded the ball well Friday because he never once had any pressure put on him, all the high balls he took with not one Manly player with-in coo-ee. Team I'd pick but not what Hages will pick. Hagan will play reyno at 12 and Tanner 13. if Simmo is out, and he'll play Tanner at 13 and Reyno on the bench Abes out if Simmo is fit. He'll play Kidley at fullback and prob Brown to the bench.

1. Thaiday (if fit) if not Hinton
2. Carney
3. Midley
4. Carmont (if suspended Tighe)
5. Quinn
6. Mullen
7. Johns
8. Perry
9. Quigley
10. Woolnough
11. Simpson (Abraham if Simmo injured)
12. Newton
13. Reynoldson

14. Kidley
15. Smith
16. Davico
17. Abraham if Simmo fit, if not Tanner.

We really are capable of fielding a much stronger side than we do, but I suppose this has been the case all year. I'd rather Thaiday over Kidley in the 1, sure Thaiday can't tackle adn is abitch under the high ball, but his positioning is better than Kurt's on the line, and I feel we'd need that.

Personally I think we might have Thiaday and Simmo wrapped in cotton wool even if they are fit to play. My side:

1. Hinton
2. Carney
3. Midley
4. Carmont
5. Quinn
6. Mullen
7. Johns
8. Perry
9. Kidley
10. Woolnough
11. Reynoldson
12. Newton
13. Tanner

14. Davico
15. Smith
16. Simpson
17. Thiaday

The Footy Show just mentioned that Simpson is likely to miss a week with that jarred AC joint. Bedsy is probably gonna miss the rest of the season too.

1. Thiaday
2. Carney
3. Midley
4. Carmont
5. Quinn
6. Mullen
7. Johns
8. Perry
9. Kidley
10. Woolnough
11. Reynoldson
12. Newton
13. Tanner

14. Davico
15. Smith
16. Abes (subs at Lock)
17. Brown (subs at Hooker)

If Thiaday is NOT fit, I would play Kidley at Fullback and bring in Quigley at Hooker.

I read a post in another thread that Alex wrote and he makes some good points about Kidleys game that would suit him at 9.

His Dummy-Half running and acurate passing particularly makes him prime candidate. He already fills in a Hooker role even with bedsy in the team.

He is alot more dangerous hanging around the ruck, running support plays. Johns played on this last week and Kidley scored two tries.

With Johns at First Receiver and Kidley at Dummy-Half. Johns might run at the line and pass back on the inside to Kidley. Effecting a wrap-around play.

CJ, you raise some valid points but 1, I vehemently disagree with is Brown anywhere near the team.

His been worse then useless.
