Seage for fullback for sure.

Timana might be out with a strained calf muscle - so that gives Carmont a spot I reckon.

Woolnough must start.

Matt Kennedy and Lowrie and Parso all deserve another run off the bench, so Price can go back to the reggies till a vacancy occurs.

We need another utility player - Ennis fits the bill.

Seage
Carmont
Matt Gidley
Richardson
Quinn
Kidley
Johns
BK
Simpson
Abraham
Perry
Buderus
Woolnough

Parsons
Matt Kennedy
Lowrie
Ennis

Seage to fullback
If Tahu is fit dump Richardson, for Carmont, otherwise Carmont for Tahu
Witt to the bench

Otherwise the same team

You cant just dump Rusty, despite a few drop balls his defence was nothing short of outstanding eg on Lewis and thats what we need. His experience is a bonus for us and it will take time for him to gel with our boys. I think Tahu will play next week, I mean we have now 9 days 2 prepare so that is great. I predict an easy win in Melbourne but it may be tighter as we have the knack of letting them back in every time but this yr may be different as our defence looks top notch!

he does bring confidence and solidarity to the line in defence, and he didnt play too badly except for the 4 or so knock ons, he shud do better in the coming weeks, but he looks solid enough to keep the position IMO, unless of course carmont is absolutely rampaging in premier league

A new utility will have to brought in now and its a toss up between Ennis or Witt, personally I would like to see Witt get a chance, I have heard good things bout this kid and also the fact that we play parramatta the week after. I think we will need Witt against the Eels, his knowledge of how they play will be priceless and a chance to show up Brian Smith and prove to him that he shouldn't have let this kid go.

but parramatta have ahd a huge turnover of players and changed their game plan pretty signinficantly, i think the advantage of having witt there wud simply be him wanting to show brian smith what an ass he was, i dont think he could provide that much insight about their game plan

Seage is a shoe-in for Robbie O's fullback spot. If Tahu is out and Hall is ineligible, I'd pull Carmont up for his debut. The bench was good, but bringing it someone like Tanner, Price, or Ennis would be good. Most likely Ennis, as Seage's presence proved how vital a utility back is. Imagine the lineup if we hadn't fielded Seage.

i was thinking about this when tahu pulled up, i was thinking abraham to fullback, seage to wing, lowrie to 12, but without seage we would have struggled

Seage has to be fullback. 'nuff said.

Richardson deserves another go for sure - he certainly wasn't alone in making handling errors, and did pretty well defensively i thought.

Where we did get found out last night was having a replacement who could play both in the backs and forwards. When Tahu was injured there were really no alternatives and he had to stay out there. Any ideas?

I think Tahu will hopefully be fine, he seemed to pull up ok... It could have just been a cramp.

Seage for fullback and put Carmont in the Centres or Wing.

Under no circumstances should Abraham be moved from the 2nd row.

I'll go with your team Roopy, just about spot on I think. Richo deserves another run I reckon, but carmont will be breathing down his neck, how did George go in Premier League anyone know?

seage

tahu and quinn
richo and gidley
(carmot to fill in if needed)

kidley
joey

perry
bedsy
wooly

simmo
abes
BK

bench:
lowrie
m. kennedy
witt
ennis

i'd love to see witt against parra in rd 3
judging by tonight's shocker and their major player turnover, it'll take a long while before parra find any sort of stability
poor johnny morris... he should come back to the hunter!

I'm not breaking new ground in saying that the side is flexible. Every good side should be capable of shifting forwards and backs out of their prefered positions during a match to cover for injuries.

Seage is a valuable commodity when injuries strike - I think he will challenge O'Davis for his fullback spot anyway, regardless of O'Davis' current injury. As Alex said, Abraham is capable of being popped into the centres, and I'd consider Simpson capable of moving to prop if need be.

The Knights have a good surplus of talent coming off the bench. There are a number of players already mentioned, that should be pressing their claims for first grade throughout the season. This is not a bad thing, because it keeps players like Rus and co on their toes.

Richo deserves another go - despite my joking around about his performance on Friday, he isn't that bad a player. Match fitness is one thing, so is performances in isolated matches. If he is still producing performances like that by rounds 9 and 10 then I'd say he'll be struggling to hold his spot. He'll bounce back, and I'd say most Knights fans will realise he is a handy player to have.

Barring injuries, the side will remain largely the same. Any ideas on a Clint Newton return? Will he have an immediate claim to a bench spot?
