Ritchie, has the ability to play more minutes, makes more tackles and hitups per game and played the majority of the year with a back injury and when we played Windsor in the semis at Kogorah he backed up to play PL against the Dragons with a jaw injury.

He needs someone to work with him with footwork as he is very raw and never had anyone help him. He never lets you down and has a lot of potential and when growing up he lived in the US and played high school American football so when he hits they stay hit.

Sounds great !!!! :sarcasm:

But seriously. Do you guys think they will change the Premier League comp next season thus kicking Newtown as we know it out of the reserve grades. leaving us with only a Jim Beam option.

Farkin hope not. Would be a tragedy, though typical !!! Worth saving some money for a rainy day though I suppose by not fielding a side in 2007 Beam just in case. ????

I have doubts PL will change too much as an open age comp is needed without a points system, there may be less PL teams but most JBC teams do not have the resources anyway to be a PLteam for an NRL club or would want to. Also I doubt that NRL clubs would farm out an NRL player to play on substandard ovals.

Agree with Bluebag. NSWRL and NSW based NRL clubs see the need for separate PL and JBC competitions and whilst that is the prevailing view, the competitions will be separate.

There is interest in certain sectors. I merely hope they do not obviously get THEIR way. IF they did then there would be 4 club teams in a comp, or they would have to get rid of Flegg OR reserve grade to make it 3 again. What BB said about Beam teams playing for NRL clubs had nothing to do whith the original question. I had to read it twice just in case I must have missed something. IF it does happen ?? Would Newtown still play in Reserve grade ???

I do not see where you are going 2TB. You asked, "But seriously. Do you guys think they will change the Premier League comp next season thus kicking Newtown as we know it out of the reserve grades. leaving us with only a Jim Beam option."

Now why would they kick Newtown out of the Reserve Grade whilst they are acting as a Reserve Grade team? The only logical assumption to make, as it is consistent with media talk, would be a reference to merged competitions, which is why BB and myself answered along those lines.

Then you say, "There is interest in certain sectors. I merely hope they do not obviously get THEIR way. IF they did then there would be 4 club teams in a comp, or they would have to get rid of Flegg OR reserve grade to make it 3 again."

Who do you refer to when you say, "they," "their," etc?

It was a simple question originally. If you don't understand it I really cannot bother eloborating, as it is obvious you would not know anyway.

Here is a few Jet player movement updates from Girvie for anyone that is interested:-

A few updates:

Canterbury
Lydan Maitua to London Scholars

Norths
Ben Ellis to St George Illawarra
John Russell to Windsor
Ryan Russell to Windsor
Brad Barrett to Erina

***Newtown***
Richie Parker to Cabramatta
David Vial to Erina
Lafi Manua is probably retiring (injuries are a factor)
Andrew Le Breton possibly Cessnock or a Group 9 club.

And these threads: Girvie states he has heard that NONE of the Jim Beam players from 2006 will be required by Newtown in 2007 and suggests they will either change clubs or resign:

NFED states:

There were not many old heads in the Newtown team so I would not expect too many retirements. I know of these movements:

Khalid Dib and Luke Millward (Sydney Bulls), Richard Parker (Cabra), Charlie Heretokukuku (Mounties), Dave Vial (Erina).

The Bulls trial against Chester Hill on 25 Feb. I expect that a few Newtown players will be with the Hornets.

Phil Takchi is the 3rd Bulls player to move to Cabra. Ryan Asplet and George Azzi have returned to the Bulls after missing 2006 and Anthony Hadley no longer has a Bulldogs contract so he will play full time with the Bulls when he recovers from his knee operation.

Dave Armitstead, who left the Windsor Wolves mid season is playing for Barrow in England.

Good luck to the boys in 2007. Thanks for the memories !!!

I asked because I wanted to know. Fair enough you don't want to know anymore.
