i've read that samrani was outside the top 30 and only playing under special dispensation so as soon as players come back from injury he's no longer eligible

I'd love to understand how you have reached this conclusion already.
Not really a conclusion, part of that post was a reverse curse - which is why I was clear about hoping to wind up with egg on my face.

I was concerned that Ryles had publicly proclaimed that these kids needed to get games up in first grade and we needed to be patient and that it wouldn't be easy (agree with it all),....but then he drops Tuivaiti for Dan Keir? I understand why Tuivaiti may need to play NSW Cup, but you don't send him down to replace him with a journeyman plodder in my view - if it was for a Matterson I would get it, but for Keir it seems pointless.

It just gave me Kearney vibes.

But in light of the Dylan Walker signing I take it back - because I regard that as a sign of proactivity and an indication that our limitations with an experienced ball player in the middle may be at least identified and addressed and we may also have cover for a failing and recalcitrant Dylan.

In short, it wasn't a conclusion, it was a feeling I expressed in the hope it would backfire on me - it looks like it did within 18 hours....

For the record, I have been pro-Ryles from day one and remain so because I love the changes he is embracing - I just wanted to see a definitive plan and not some flailing in the dark.

Has he said "the lads" yet?
Moonface was clueless. Rylesy is at least far more articulate...the similarities are there performance wise thus far but I do feel JR has more to offer.
I do remember when moonface was there we had some absolute resolute defence but couldn't score points.
We lost so many games by less than 6 or 8 points..there was sweet fa in attack
Seems I'm not the only one who is wary and scarred from the Kearney years!

Quick, jump on that post Emjaycee....or is that action just reserved for certain posters?

I think we are all still scarred from the Kearney years, but some significant differences that I see are in Ryles' approach to improving the culture of the club, in his identification of players that fit the style he wants us to play (Kearney tried to get the existing players to play a new (Melbourne) style) and in his promotion of youth to achieve that aim.

And don't be so paranoid about whose posts I 'jump on' - you made a pretty definitive statement after 3 rounds and I was genuinly interested in understanding why.

If they go close against Manly then I feel the first win will be against the Dragons. Hopefully the effort against Bulldogs will give them confidence. However let's not hope Todd Smith does Atkins did to Canberra with the six again calls and sin binning, then its a repeat of 2018 when they score 40 in the first half
This comment just screams of me each week before being heart broken.

I don't think useless is correct, he has been one our better NSW cup players last few years.....but yes older, fairly "unexciting" type player....

I say his "skill set" fits into the style Ryles wants in our pack, mobile, hard working players. Type of player Storm have used...

Anyhow, Keir's 41 tackles at 95%, last week is probably a good indication at what Ryles is looking for....
One play on the weekend he absolutely few across to make a tackle. Wing like speed. The guy can play. Im backing Ryles. Brock Parker is another who might surprise if given an opportunity.

Game plan:

Deep inside Manly’s half , Parra attacking ,someone throws an innocent intercept to TomT (like 2m from the try line)

Get Fox to chase him hard but not get him , make him go full speed

(not that I wish an injury to anyone)

The above will test Tom’s hammy, it may go on him so early in the game at full stretch (and he doesn’t make the try line)

Manly now without TomT, Parra go on to win the match 24-22

with our luck, Turbo scores and Fox does his hammy
