Not at all he is playing in the other trial, Hiroti playing in that game as well to me it is a trial.

Don't think you were trying to be racist but to diminish their selection to "the other trial" is ordinary. Surely they get more out of that - experience, insight, playing with another level of players, self-belief, etc. If the All-stars was not at the same time of the trials would you make the same comment?

For the players involved, it is definitely NOT a trial.
They ARE representing their cultures and they take great pride in that, and rightly so.

just how does one represent their culture in a sporting game invented in England 120 years ago? No matter how you look at it, this game is a very strange hypocrisy that would not be allowed in any other format, & has no place in sport. I'm all for Koori cup & the NZ equivalent if there is one. That makes perfect sense & is in no way divisive. Perhaps something done through that channel, superbowl format, would be better & leaving out highly paid NRL players. $millions at risk for what? a statement? Ch9 dollars?
There was an issue a few years ago when Smith & slater did a coaching camp in Northern Rivers , the only one they did in 5 years, & it was exclusive to Indij Kids. 3 days off school , free transport, meals , gear etc etc That was until somebody stepped up & pointed out how controversial it was having to explain to ten year olds why they werent allowed to go, but their neighbour was. So then it was opened up.
Kids & sport , just leave the garbage out of it.

I don't think you can even say it's an all stars game.
I have seen all stars games in other codes, this game has about 75 per cent of players ineligible
