As far as I know Volkman is only on a Train and Trial so must have got permission from the NRL to use him? with Moses and Hawkins injured we must not have had any other recognised halves in the top squad?

Is it possible at all for LU to call Will Penisini "Will" rather than Viliami this season? Will seems to be happily known as Will in all Eels material, team lists etc.

I highly doubt Morretti who was good in the trials has fallen behind Mataele and Tuivati on the extended bench. Injured id say.

I've got to be honest, I don't think I've been as uninspired by a Round 1 team we've put on the park ever.

It's a good thing BA is gone...if he was coaching this mob, the Storm would've put 50 on that group.

Yeah, I haven't been game enough to glance across the column at the Storm line up yet.

I think we'll go under by around 20 points - but hopefully not through lack of trying, just lack of quality.

Been saying Williams would play on the edge for about 6 weeks. Aside from Moey disappearing I had the 1-13 prediction correct.

super happy to see Ryley on the bench.

We’ll be smacked by 30 without Moses kicking game however.

Williams at second row (I mentioned that last year btw) After seeing him play in the front row would have thought it was a foregone conclusion that he was playing in the front row.

Our bench seems really light still not a fan of Doorey but good luck to him. Would have rather have Sam on the bench.

Smith on the bench is also a positive moving forward

Bench looks weak. Agree about Doorey. He’s a reserve grader.

Fair possibility. Greig likely ahead of them also. Cartwright ahead of Doorey also.

Obviously put the Fox, Simonnson, Moses, and Lane improves us. I'll be honest though, I don't think it improves enough to finish ahead of 8 other teams.

I think the first part explains the second part. I expect Williams will start on edge but may see time in middle depending how game goes.
Ideally he’s a middle, but it probably points to edge forward lacking depth that he’s also possibly our best edge

He was not only going to get promoted but play FG.

Volkman and Brown did ok in the first trial. Let's hope Brown doesn't have to do much game management.

I can only assume Guymer comes on for Hopgood Doorey is a middle now apparently so will replace Offa or Junior with Matto in the middle.

Guymer can go to the second row if they need to late in the game as well I assume.
I thought Sam Tuivati showed more in the trials than Doorey and Matto to be honest.
