What an anticlimax after the long off season! Looking at the team, even when including Moses and Addo Carr, can we kid ourselves that this is a top 8 squad?

I mentioned it a few times now but we've never been able to put our best 17 on the field for at least one game since forever. Most likely we'll have a couple more injuries or suspensions before JAC, Lane and Moses are fit to take the field. When I saw that we were playing the Storm at home for our first outing I thought that someone in NRL head office had it in for us. I don't expect us to win especially after the turmoil and rebuilding season that was 2024. But what I am looking for is a change in how Parra play and back themselves, not only against the Storm but especially over the first month or two. That will give me a better idea on where we're headed.
In all seriousness i am not that fussed about the result this week.

I am more concerned about Moses.

I understand it's round 1 so it's better not taking any risks.

But you do have to question how he has foot soreness after not playing for 4 months.

Have we stuffed up his loads somewhere in the pre season.

Is it a re-injury from last year which is massive trouble.

Like soreness and we haven't hit round 1 is a major worry. I am not a doctor or sports scientist but i assume it basically means we will have to nurse him a bit already and haven't even had our 1st barrier trial.

He has played as many rep games for NSW & Australia then Parramatta in the last 12 months.

And we are basically staking our next 5 years on him.

You would almost say he is another major injury away from being tommy turbo like

A refresher.

How many games did Mitchell Moses play in 2024?

The Kangaroos' victory caps off a mixed year for Moses, which included an Origin series win, a bicep injury and foot injury that saw him play just eight games for the Eels this season, and Parramatta narrowly avoiding the wooden spoon. Moses described 2024 as a tough year.11 Nov 2024

We use to be able to do that when we thought our lower grades were good and there might be another Jason Bell or Danny Crnkovich on the way up.

He has played 5 Parra games since Round 3.

And 5 rep games (2 NSW, 3 Australia)

Anyway I am going to enjoy this season for the entertaining brand of football we play rather than the results. I think we will largely play heads up football 4 tackles a set and then heads down football just to mix it up.

So, you rate Dunster, I don’t but good he has a fan (even though he’s injured as usual). Would have preferred a younger and bigger player like R Penisini given a shot.
I have it on good authority Haze’s own family aren’t even fans after watching him jog in back play while the Penis beat 72 defenders while looking for a winger to pass to some thirty metres down field.

The good authority are the voices in my head for whatever that is worth.
