Titans not known for their fast starts in round 1, disrupted prep and we're pre-season champs.
Us by 14 and a fun time will be had by all.

Wr have pur two starting wingers out. I reckon BA is slightly concerned that we won't get out of our own end easily. That means he can move Blake to wing and Brown to centre if it's a problem.
Our forward packs strong. Our biggest weakness is our wingers imo
Might need a different game plan. Instead of short passes to a forward in midfield maybe quick passes to a winger out wide to get around compressed defences. To often we bash and barge up field with the forwards getting smashed when there is plenty of space out wide. If we consistently do this defences will have to spread which will make it easier for forwards thru the middle. Get it done BA!Nailed it Hindy. I really think that our lack of power wingers is a major concern and will tax our forwards way more then all the media experts think, or don't think. They are paid to analyse and assess the game but a lot of the time they are only telling us what we already know especially the non ex-player journo ones. Then when one picks up on something they all Parrot it like its their idea or observation. So lets see which bright spark in the media will first point out our lack of power on the flanks to start our sets?
Unless we play a more expansive game, which I still think we aren't quick enough as a team to do against the better teams, our forwards load out of our end are going to have to pickup the slack that the new wingers aren't capable in doing.
Regularly starting our sets with little impact from our wingers from their ordinary hitups, will mean that those first two tackles will ruin the overall momentum of our sets. So then our game will suffer under the pressure of the better defending teams. Teams will know that they have a good chance in nailing our first two runners so will really make an effort to do so.
With this in mind I would have put more size and muscle on the bench not less. Especially for the first game so we can see how the two new flankers go in NRL competition conditions. We play a power game, so unless the coach thinks that he has tweaked our style significantly enough why pick a weak bench? One little guy and 3 palookas should have been the go.
When RCG and Paulo come off the go forward will drop significantly, Add two lightweight wingers to the mix and we will struggle if the Titans are playing tough and hard defensively. Add their speed to the mix and we could be in trouble.
I hope for our sake that there is more room out there so that they can evade defenders or it could mean our sets will start to look very ordinary when coming out of our own end.
Maybe this could be offset by fully utilising our bench? It will be interesting if any new strategies are utilised this season. So excited. Parra, clap, clap, clap!Nailed it Hindy. I mean he’s only in his 9th season, give him some time he might figure it out eventually.Yep, and from the bench he has picked for the first round he hasn't even utilized our reserves properly.
...and if it isn't it will be forgotten about along with a million other shit comments.Reckon rucking it out with our “smaller” wingers, won’t be as much as an issue as we think…..
Are you saying we need to get the ball to where the defence is thinnest? Sounds like the kind of thing an experienced spine should be sorting out.Might need a different game plan. I can't think of a joke around this but condoms are inherently funnyHopefully we can frustrate them so there’s some infighting and a
Junior Paulo will break him in half. Will Smith will probably have the game of his life
Which will still only be a 5 or 6 out of 10 to be fair....Will Smith will probably have the game of his life
***Update***Any update on the condition of Commbank Stadium and whether it will be up to scratch?
I was thinking the same thing. Looks like Gary has played 18 holes on it.***Update***
It's looking pretty f**king dodgy unfortunately.... Genning's has already done an ACL tonight trying to step with nobody even touching him.... I'll be happy with a loss and no season ending injuries!!
