He couldn’t have covered centre last week (however poorly received)? Would have saved us the trouble of having to shift Brown to centre and disrupting our attack. It still would have been the better option even if we didn’t need the cover for edge forward like we do this week.

Cartwright is absolutely not a centre. He lacks the lateral movement for defence. You go on about disrupting the halves but our problem after Russell left the field was our defence. Cartwright at centre would be a huge vulnerability. Even defending three in he's a liability.
