If Hodgson gets a medical retirement, maybe his reported $400,000 2024 contract can be paid out this year, meaning we might have more cap available for next year to re-sign our unsigned prospects?

is it TPD I wonder ?? Is the Insurance at Club level or NRL level? Aren't the contracts registered to NRL? If so, he pre-existings should be already covered unless he brought them over from the UK.

We're back to our full strength starting pack I guess, with Paulo, RCG, Lane, Cartwright, Hopgood and Hands all available, and Matto to come on from the bench. And Gutherson and Moses to provide some leadership.

The other three bench spots have been on a bit of a rotation all season, and while Greig is injured, the three guys named aren't duds and will fill that role ok.

Though I'm not confident... as we are a bit brittle in our backline and with Brown still out any mid-game backline injury will really be testing the depth, or messing with BA's forward rotation.

I’m still perplexed with the Davey inclusion. He is quite average. Possibly has better defence than the other options.

He definitely does. He is one of the best defensive forwards in the club. Pretty boring but also pretty important to our team.

The thing is, he is a BA favey.... there were reports that BA wanted to sign him for the beginning of the season but he went to the dogs coz the chinese was better.

Then we got him mid-season.... so he is someone on BA's faves list. So will he block them? Luca and Emu aren't listed on the squad succession for next year... if they aren't going to be here next year, Davey just might be picked because he is reliable

Plenty of players play injured. I guess sometimes those injuries are made worse during games. Hodgson only played 30 minutes in his last start for us, which is unusual. He played his usual 50 the week before against Souths.

Yes BA hooked him early in his final game, which is unusual because he'd previously put up with his poor form for longer. News of the neck injury only came a week later, on the next game day morning.
