Team Selections

What is going on with the team selections. I have to question De Belin being selected to play in the front row WTF. Whilst he is a star of the future I really doubt he is front rower. Why not pick front rowers to play in the front row Eg: Weymen, Henderson and company. Why are we making it easy for opposition forward packs. Is It any wonder we have paper thin defense and a non threatening attack

Doesn't matter where he's been named, he plays the same style anyway, plays tight, tackles around the legs and tackles a lot. He could have been named at lock and done the same thing.

Have to agree mate..from what I saw from De Belin in the first 15 mins he hasn't a clue and looked totally lost out there....the platform of any game is the go forward by our front rowers especially in the first 15.

As if to highlight my point Weymen enters the game and all of a sudden we have go forward, and he scores a try just to prove my point.

De belin is playing like a cat. He honestly needs to step up and fire the f**k up. Has done sweet FA with his opportunities

I have to disagree with you on this. He had a shocking first 15 minutes. But that second half, he tackled his ass off. And when he hits a player, he HITS the player. He lead the league last year in effective tackles even in his limited minutes.

Next week!

1. Dugan (hopefully)
2. Flo
3. Cooper (hopefully) if not VaiVai
4. Stanley
5. Morris (hopefully) if not Green
6. Drinkwater
7. Fein
8. Weyman
9. Rein
10. Stockwell
11. Frizzell (first player picked)
12. Creagh (only after he has a rocket put up him)
13. Merrin
.
14. Hunt
15. Debelin
16. Prior (thought he worked hard in defence)
17. Matthews
.
Won't happen I know, but I am over So ward refusing to get his shorts dirty and Harrison is just ineffective!

Harrison, terrible again, a poor signing and gives us nothing. Soward better step up REAL SOON or he will leave Dragons with a tarnished legacy. Fein to retire, while Green needs some defensive training ,plus catching the ball. Frizell has it, and I'm impressed with Vidot, huge turnaround from last year. Stanley....turnstile again.

JDB was good tonight. Iffy start but is exactly what we need. 108 kgs, runs hard, very athletic, high work rate. He is the modern prop. Solid performance.

HB always comes up with the alternative view.

I agree.

And I bet Jack just gets bigger ...and better. Good selection.

I agree with all these observations (hehe ...are you a coach?)

Seriously tho, I reckon Vidot had a great dig. I think he was unjustly criticised by the commentators for his kick chase thing - it's a sign he is starting to think outside the square, and challenging himself to take a risk. His heart is beating for Red V (faster than Sowie's atm) and wants to prove a point, prob to impress his (ex) team-mate Joshua - if and when he is allowed to play.

Now there is a young and strong upcoming backs combo there!!

More please.

I agree re: Vidot - that chip and chase very nearly came off and it would have been great, there was no time left and we were out of options, so good on him for giving it a shot. Unfortunately, he wont be in the team once dugan arrives unless Moz is injured...

RE: Harrison - the guy is not a tight player, get him out on the edges and bring Creagh into the middle. Harrison runs a decent angle and hits the line hard (i.e. second rower). Creagh takes the ball one off the ruck, also hits the line hard, and looks for a quick play-the-ball (i.e prop/lock). Its not exactly rocket science, put Creagh in tight and Harrison out wider when he comes on.

All i know is that Price gave him an almighty spray when he came off. Doubt he'll be picked next week.

Big call, that one gypsy. I have seen Pretty Boy play worse and still survive. Plus Price team selections are on auto pilot anyway.
