f**k, all that Johnson needs to do is run at the line a couple of times real early on with the intent of either getting around/through or getting tackled. Screw passing it, just run man and take the tackle if need be. He will then physically and mentally properly be in the game (and perhaps on the board!) rather than this lame arse 60 mins of wafting around doing dopey inside lay offs to forwards after floating sideways expecting a gap to suddenly appear. Make/force something to happen- with speed, agility and power. That try he scored from close to the line against the Aussies - there wasn't much of a gap, and plenty of tacklers, he just made it happen by exceptional footwork and intent. After he has properly tested the defense then he can direct play and all that other stuff he is a bit rubbish at.

Just f**ken run Johnson, pretend its bullrush and you have no mates.

For once, I'm hoping Manu doesn't play.
I'd hate to see Vatuvei play only to injure himself further.

What is Tomkins injury? I too thought he was coming back a couple of weeks ago?
Perhaps with how long he's been out, a run in NSW Cup will do him well

With Manu I guess it must be bruising rather than any other damage. I agree that if there is a risk don't play him. However if it is bruising he has a bye next week. With our depleted backline it may be worth the risk.

I wouldn't risk Tomkins, give the knee another fortnight, we have a bye next week. Will do the team no harm to grind it out again.
