Rugby League the way it should be played - unseen @ "Toyota Park" since.

Love the Mellor try, always a favourite memory.

Took the old man to the game, he's a Knights supporter.

Got interviewed by RLW after the match. Was in the "King Of The Hill" segment in the next week's edition.

Wish Noddy missed that penalty goal though!

Agree, cardy, Taking that penalty purely for personal glory and to take the joint record from two club legends in his first season at a new club showed a total lack of class. Makes me think of the comparison when Tubby Taylor retired on the same score as Bradman as a show of respect rather than taking the record.

Kimmorley wasn't captain - Peachey was , so it wouldn't have been Noddy's call to take the kick. But ... anything to back-up the Kimmorley hate on this forum.
Steve Rogers kicked a penalty goal the day he posted the record against Wests in '77 , what's the difference ?
Mark Taylor has always said he was going to declare at the end of the days play , no matter what score he was on.

how much better was noddy than any of the half backs we have had since.

And peach, pure class.

I'm not actually a noddy hater and give him credit for some great performances in the blue black and white including this particular day. It was likely a message from the coach via a trainer to call for the two points and the record. No matter who made that call it was wrong and the crowd on the day let them know it. Also the point isn't he kicked a penalty goal it was that he kicked one with a 60 point lead just to break a personal record instead of entertaining the crowd with more attack and another potential try.

Well said dreary.

I love the peach! What a f**king legend!

And Mellor's try goes down as one of my favourites, made even better as it was on the merkin Quinn!

No , you said Brett Kimmorley took the goal 'purely for personal glory' & 'showed a total lack of class'. Whether it was the wrong call or not , it was not Kimmorley's decision.

I loved the 6th try of the game which Kimmorley scored, that looks like the true version of Cronullafied that Knights bloke!

I'm not going to get into a stupid online bitch fight over some sh!t that happened in an otherwise great match 13 years ago so this is the last of it from me. The penalty kick WAS purely for the personal glory of one player Noddy and no matter if the call came from the coaches box (and we all know the ando kimmorly relationship) it was a classless act in the circumstances.

Against these kaarnts that have the wood on us. Whaart tha f**k is the fear factor against the kinigits?

We revert inside ourselves like a bunch of agoraphobics at a porn exhibishionists convention, every time we shuffle out against em', particularly at NewCarSell. Got me f**ked like the rusty razor I used on my coin sack this morning.
