Peachy out kicked Wallace. The way I see it is we won't win a game without Soward and Wallace has no place in the team without Sowie running the show. Also start Cartwright ffs! Stop waiting till the game is over to bring him on. I've lost all faith in Ivan

I missed the game but recorded it. Should I bother? Or can someone give me a brief summary?

Don't bother.

In summary - couldn't hold on to the ball.

The highlight was probably when we had repeat sets on their line in the first half, but ultimately led to another incomplete set when Smith shanked a drop out, but somehow got bundled into touch on reception.

Another incomplete set was after Peachey ran about 70m off an intercept.

I could go on...

Oh yeah, one other thing... the 3rd try to Blake Green was as bad as it gets when it comes to try line defence... woeful.

We were a shot duck as far as exhaustion was concerned as we spent our reserves in defeding for most of the game.

Also I feel that we are simply a side that cannot only not compete with the players that we have, its not fair on the players who are not really ready for first grade.

But as it is,we have no choice being the position that we find ourselves.

But I'm very confident that we can pick ourselves up and draw positives from the losses, and get ourselves on course for a play-off spot.

My only concern for the next match is the long break. We must be the worst performing side after a bye,or a break of 7 days or more.

I love Segeyaro, but man he needs to sort out his passing from dummy half, especially in the opponents 20. Slows everything down.

Overall, we were shit. Someone needs to tell Blake that it doesn't matter how big or strong you are, if you can't hold onto the ball, you are useless. Wallace's kicks on the final tackle are just pointless, and he doesn't do anything else of note (except miss tackles last night). Unless we get Soward on the field more and someone reliable to partner with him quickly, we may be seeing our "Premiership window" slamming shut; it doesn't matter how many young promising backs you have, if there is no-one there to guide the team around the paddock, and no big forwards ready to eat metres, then you'll never get the consistency needed to get past the final hurdle.

And we are seeing Clearly struggle to establishing attacking patterns again, which has long been his weakness.

Let me say it was painful to watch. A totally inept, unacceptable display. The Storm were there for the taking coming off the Monday night game, four late withdrawals including Slater but we were never, ever in this one.

Having said that, some of the doom and gloom in your posts is just wrong.

We went into the game with what our sixth or seventh halves pairing for the season. Without Moylan, Mansour, Idris, Soward, Kite, Plum and a number of players coming back from injury for there first game for some time.

Yes I expected more, we all did and while no one likes to make excuses we have plenty.

It is ridiculous to start questioning the ability of our coach and equally ridiculous to question the commitment of the team and certain individuals.

I am as upset as anyone, frustrated, pissed off, disappointed, disillusioned but please put things in perspective.

Every side in the N.R.L needs to be able to field there best 17 to compete week in week out and we have been denied that yet again this season.

Yes it is clear we need to address certain areas in our team and Gus Gould and Ivan Cleary will know that better than me and anyone else who posts of this forum. I am confident we will have further signings other than the great acquisition of Trent Merrin including another half / five eighth and big bopper as the youngsters in our Under 20's may be a year or two away.

2015 is gone, we are highly unlikely to make the eight. Do we neck ourselves, no. The five year plan is still on track and our luck and fortune will surely change for the better.

what alarms me is we are falling down in the basics off the game

segs instead off passing off the ground stands then passes slowing the whole process down

our players can not even play the ball correctly many times getting pulled up or close to being pulled up by the refs

Waqa blake when running up the side line carries the ball on the inside arm rather than outside giving him the chance to palm

And my biggest gripe is the one pass 1 pass game plan that lasts for at least 30 minutes off each half

We have the talent in the club no doubt .But it may be time to lock the gym and get them working with the ball rather than the weights in the gym

I don't believe much needs to change but the work on the basics increased and heavier contact while training to prepare for the impact.

I don't profess to be a rugby league N.R.L coach but it is clear from recent games we are lacking size in the forwards, are being out muscled, unable to win the battle in the ruck and therefore without go forward nothing is going to happen offensively. I just had a look at the NRL stats and they don't make for good reading, particularly in terms of metres made by our forwards. It is no surprise only RCG got over 100 metres. He has been a revelation this season and surely will only get better. Don't know whether BMM is fit and available but if he was surely he could offer more than some currently being selected in the top grade.

Look at the dragons and broncos
they are at top of the table but imagine if they didn't have Benji and Widdop / Hunt and Milford

Injuries are important.
Dragons and broncos have hardly been affected as much as we have

Is there any other side in the comp who have had to endure half a dozen, or more, different halves combinations enforced thru injury? I don't think there has been and that is tough. Very tough.

Injuries are just a cop out. Look at our lower grades. They cop it even worse then the top grade. Yet turn up with the right attitude & do the basics right... We lack that in the top grade.

An injury or two isn't a big deal. But the chopping and changing our roster has gone through is a big deal. Take out the two main playmakers from any squad, they struggle to score.

Moylan
Mansour
Idris
Rennings
Gennings
Soward
Korisau
Kite
Plum
Bmm

That's a lot of players missing. It also limits our ability to drop poor performers. We have no options available to replace them.

Our halves combinations this year have been like 8 or 9 combinations in 12 games. With our full strength halves not even having 3 full game together.

We have had our centres and wingers decimated with injury and had them change weekly also. As disappointing as this year has been, we have handled it better than any other team could or would have IMO. Look at Souths qith their injuries and they aren't nearly as bad as ours.

Do you honestly think having those backs playing would stop our pack being smashed or the lack of urgency we are showing at the start of the game?

Our attack is rightful struggling I won't critise that as the halves being injured haven't allowed anything more then we have shown.

Look at a few starts of ours V Newcastle 18-0 after 15mins. V Manly 10-0 down after 20. Last 2 home games 14-0 & 18-0 down at halftime.

Our issues are more then just injuries. Sure they hurt but we aren't doing the basics right or the right mindset when starting games.

Mansour and Idris carried our pack last year, so yes I do. By far our best metre eater and tackle breakers.

Throw in Moylan making less errors and poor reads at fullback, thats a lot less pressure on us aswell.

Those losses are huge. Makes a massive difference on where the games is played.

Moylan played every game bar this week. Even last week was 12-0 when he went off. We have more issues then not having a backline out there

Yes, there has been an avalanche of basic errors in the games I have seen this year, and a general lack of enthusiasm and fight. Injuries don't have anything to do with those two things.

One of those games you simply write off.I don't know how many more times I'm going to say this for the rest of the season, but I'll be holding my breath.

Injuries can be blamed for our disjointed attack, but Billy and Franklin are right, they don't excuse everything else we're doing wrong. I've complained about Segs dh work this year, and above Mob mentioned his standing before passing technique, but have you ever seen a dh deliver so many balls above the receivers head? They seem to be lacking so many of the basic fundamentals of the game. That team looked and played like an Elliot coached side.

I think you are spot on with these comments. What concerns me the most is last year when we were hit with injuries for the most part we still had enthusiasm and intensity which was getting us wins however that enthusiasm just isn't there this year. I am still amazed we are only just out of the eight with the way we have played but am still not prepared to write off this season just yet. It's Ivan's job to turn that attitude around so we will find out in the coming weeks if he is capable of doing that.
