Fifita dropped for poor game last week.

I honestly think he needs to do more fitness work because he is getting lazier by the week.

I honestly think he needs to do more fitness work because he is getting lazier by the week.

I remember a bloke called Arthur Beetson who was driven out of the club because people thought he wasnt fit enough good enough durable enough etc, he just didnt fit the mould, but was light years in front of any other player running around at the time. Okay Fifita isnt a Beetson, but he is a rare talent and Iam not sure Sheens is the right bloke for him at this stage of his football life, He needs some latitude.

That's the trouble with farkwit's selections. He can't disassociate good trainers with good players. Easy to look good when there's no one in front of you.

Can anybody tell me what Fifita did wrong or diferently than any other of our lazy soft forward pack against Brisbane last week? He did drop a ball from memory and was hooked by Shines, but apart from that at least he made some attempt at denting the line, moreso than even Elis who was very quite.
Im all for players being accountable if they dont perform but it has to work accross the board and not just to a chosen few. Overall im happy with the side picked, just hope they can stay un injured for a while and regain some consisitancy in attack again.

Its funny, Sheens gave so much latitude to Gibbs during his development years yet a player like Fifita gets hooked for a mistake or a dumb play. I dont understand. Gee if Bryce got dropped or hooked for every brain explosion he had over the first five years in the top grade he would not have got his boots dirty.

I suppose every player has to be treated different and Sheens wants get on top of Fifta early and get him pointed in the right direction, but to me Sheens seems to have one rule for some players and another rule for others.

I think the difference may be; even if Gibbs' hit ups lacked punch, he worked really f**king hard in defence, especially around the ruck. Gibbs was always going to come good, because he had the right attitude... Fifita's work ethic is incredibly poor, as is his football brain. I've seen him rush out of the line to cough trys more in two games in reserve grade than Gibbs has in his entire career.

I don't know what the solution to developing a player like Fifita is. Covering him with a team of good forwards to allow him his one run every 10 minutes will work, but we're not exactly chock props are we.

If we're going to carry a player like him, I don't know why we don't go get a Solomona or someone with class.

To think the talent we have in reserve grade are already sifting through offers from other clubs and not one offer from WT.

In so far as Gibbs I agree his defence was his biggest saving grace. However his, and many other 2005 squad members, development really hurt the team in the years since 2005. Only two seasons of real reward so far

Interesting to see that Bodene Thompson go in the centres for the Titans. A Keebra Park Jnr that apparently slipped through the Tigz ranks.
