Team vs Panthers

Can you imagine if he had started last Friday? The most intense first 20 we have played all year; completely dominated infield position and possession?

As it was the match hardened blokes kept us in it. Some of the benchies like Joe G and Feleti then cashed in. It was great coaching and use of the interchange.

Feleti came into the game at a time when we needed to play footy to win it.

Hagan would have tried to defend the lead with 20 to go. DA saw a game to be won.

Hmmm... not unexpected, but I'd expect a late change on game night.

If Hindy continues the work he's been doing, it almost makes up for not having a real 4th prop on the bench. Joe goes OK enough in that role, and I'd expect him to start from the bench again.

Which means that either Ben Smith or Feleti will start the game in the back row. I reckon he might start with Feleti this time, and give him a spell after 20min, and bring him back on at some point in the second half.

i think bartman it would be better to start with smith to see out the first 20 min feeling out period and bring feleti in when the tempo has slowed a little, the first bits of the game on friday will be like the tigers game, block trying to come out of the blocks very strong. Benny has the fitness and defence to start atm.

Yeah, good point. Feleti can always treat the half time break as a ten minute breather, without it costing us the extra interchange.

I think he'll see more game tim ethis week than last week though, whether the game is tight and in the balance, or whether we're in front or behind.

I think the trouble we have once the starting props are off is actually the return from the kickoff.

Mannah struggled a bit with this.

Fui and Caylo do a good job but once one (or two) of them is off the field, who can take over.

We don't really want Hindy to fill that role as it must take alot of energy out of the person who does return the ball.

very good point. I think we need to spread it wide more once caylo and fui are off. Mannah & Galuvao hit it up off the kick off and then either Hayne go for 40/20 or spread it wide.

I agree.

It is risky but we haven't had any numbskull drop balls recently. Most were under difficult situations.

Usually, they kick to a corner of the field and concentrate all their defense in a compressed line to the kick returner.

From the first kick off return, we should spread it wide and thin out their defense.

On the next kick off, their defense may not be so compressed.

Alternatively. We can stop scoring and then we won't have to do the kickoff returns.

But honestly, I can bet u it will be hindy returning it as hindy won't shirk the task at hand.

"who can take over." LUKE BURT

He's as tough as they come, they'' all be tripping over him trying to tackle him. Defenses are frightened of tackling Luke and we all know why.....

The fear Luke puts into any defence while running the ball back from the kickoff is terrifying.

Go Luke................... another 30 meters pegged back by Luke on the 1st tackle.

I realy thought Horo would make grade this year...
Any news on how he has been going? Will he be here next year or is he simply not good enough for first grade?

He's captain, so that must signify something... I guess out of that Wenty pack, he, Tim Robinson (unless you count that game last year) and Anthony Mitchell are the only ones untried and with a possible future in firsts.

Maybe next year?

there was rumour he was offered a contract but asked for more which parramatta were not willing to pay.

Appart from himself, Robenson and Mitchell (and possibly Filiga) there is not much of an NRL future for the others who are untried. Mortimer would be a handy backup fullback but with guys like Inu, Burt and Reddy who can fill in I doubt he will see much (if any) NRL if he stays at parramatta.
