Tim Sheens keeps faith in Wests Tigers squad despite poor form

By Ian McCullough
June 02, 2009 Wests Tigers coach Tim Sheens has resisted wholesale changes and says players are not yet under notice despite tasting defeat in their last four NRL matches.
Sheens has made just two changes to his side for Friday's clash with Penrith at Leichhardt Oval with captain Robbie Farah to return after New South Wales State of Origin duty allowing John Morris to return to five-eighth.

However, the Tigers saw young centre Peni Tagive join an ever-growing injury list after dislocating his shoulder in Sunday's 14-0 defeat by the Warriors in Auckland forcing Sheens to move Blake Ayshford back into the centres.

Sheens admitted his side need to start finding some winning form but denied that wholesale changes will be needed to rediscover a winning formula.

"The basis of the side has played for a month and we've contested the last month of footy without any success but a win is just around the corner," Sheens said.

"There is a certain amount of pressure because the more you lose the pressure builds.

"In our last six games we have won two and lost four ... but our for-and-against hasn't blown out we haven't given up 40 points ... but we need to convert half chances into tries."

Sheens is still without Keith Galloway (knee) and centre pairing Chris Lawrence (ankle) and Dean Collis (wrist).

Nothing changes- just more of the same spin, inertia and failed selections. Common someone in WT board land get some balls and take on Teflon- he is ruining the club, the team and the devotion of the fans.

He has lost my devotion thats for sure. We need to lose more and hopefuly the pressure on him will follow.

Thats what a sane person would think but WT seem to be going against the grain and nothing happens- its like groundhog day - day after day, season after season- same excuses, no improvement, same players (except when injured). Its like Teflon has them mesmorised.

I feel sorry for his Shame's wife. How boring a husband must he be. Not willing to try anything new....sticks to the same routine....stubborn and pigheaded.

There'll be a few taps on the shoulder in September

Alas none of those taps will be on the shoulders of the cretin coach or his dwarf like incompetent assistant

How we win this game.
-Farah gets Weyman to belt Civonaceva tonight
-Farah starts a blue with Crocker, then hides behind Lewis, so Lewis gets smashed
-Farah does the same with Jennings in the place of Lewis.

Now, we face Penrith minus Civo, Jennings and Lewis, our chances of winning go from 2% to 8%.

I can see it now.

78th minute, Wests Tigers 14, Penrith Panthers 16, Marshall kicking one goal from in front and missing 2 from 5 meters to the left.

Tackle 1: Pass to Bryce Gibbs, 5m gain.
Tackle 2: Dummy half run from Beau Ryan for 1m.
Tackle 3: The ball is passed through the hands to Marshall eventually, who throws a pass about 5m high and Tuiaki just manages to keep the ball in.
Tackle 4: Farah scoots and manages to catch a marker off guard before being tackled.
Tackle 5: The ball is thrown to Morris who hits a field goal off his shin and improves the score to 15-16.

Full Time Whistle.

Any chance of late inclusions, i.e Galloway, Lawerance.

Might make me more inclined to make the trek down the Sydney.

Cant remember the last game I missed at the "grand old lay" and although just a few minutes away Iam really having trouble getting myself up for this game. I just have visions of the Chokie soliders mauling us the middle with a million offloads than burning us up out wide. Maybe well off the mark but cant see us in the mix

 he'd probably nail it from the sideline 40 meters out!! only time we'd ever f*cken kick one.

morris's miss against the broncos last year still goes down as the worst field goal miss ive ever seen. down by one with 2 mins to go he is 15m out dead in front, no pressure and hooks it. it lands closer to the corner post then the goal. you couldnt do it if you tried.

the bloke is a complete and utter spastic.

Hahah his ineptitude was only surpassed by the great Shannon Mac butchering a cast iron try. It was a night for the mongs

I think Nick Kenny and Dave taylor were involved in the chase as well
They joined Cameron Ciraldo in an illustrious list of slow hacks that have run down the great man
