Im pretty sure I haven't ever mentioned size. Intent in contact is what is missing at the moment. Intent comes from energy and enthusiasm. Paulo and JSL don't have that.

Which is weird because admittedly I had not paid much attention to JSL prior to us signing him but the one thing I would have said about him is he plays hard. Not seeing that from him so far for us.

Agree. I expected a hard merkin, but it's not what we have seen.

Yes, the ONE game I saw him play (when he was with Manly) was against us, and he killed us - I think he scored two tries...

Totally agree for the size JSL he seems sluggish dosent hit in defence and dosent bend the link in attack, in short time Capewell has been on field works hard looks dangerous with the ball and defence is on par with JSL at least

When JSL came off the bench at Manly he was a ball of energy. I must agree with other posters, that he does look extremely sluggish this year. I'm not sure if its a fitness issue or a mental issue but he better get it fixed quick smart.

I'd like to see Malakai into the top 25 next year. He has improved markedly in a year and will be a real asset if he keeps on this path.

Another fella we need to add to our 25 next year is Josh Tuilagi. I was calling for this kid to be in our 9's team at the start of the year. I may have jumped the gun but I'm pretty sure he will be on that plane for next year.

We'll sign some battler journey man who has some NRL experience and let these kids go.

In general, I don't see why Newtown players couldn't / wouldn't play for Cronulla if they were selected. There is a $460k second tier salary cap available and we probably haven't spent any of it this year.

I dunno. I see Paulo and Capewell regularly and Capewell seems bigger in person. Maybe it's the height but I wouldn't class Paulo as a big guy.

Paulo is listed as 106 kg! I think listed weights for NRL players are probably often inaccurate, but Paulo isn't undersized as an NRL forward by any means.

Well at this point of time its after June 30 and they can't be registered in the NRL for a start. Newtown players are NSWRL registered are they not?

I thought players could join a club after June 30 as long as they are not registered with another NRL club (as Newtown players outside the top 25 wouldn't be). Hayne didn't join GC until August for example

As I said I see the guy most weeks. Nowhere near prop size and Capewell seems a bigger human.

I reckon he's worth a punt with a second tier contract. Obviously I haven't seen how he plays week to week but he showed up plenty of our top 25 (and by that I mean the bottom half of our top 25).
