Team Without Origin Players

This thread is probably a little premature, without the team being named and all... But we can always update the thread as new information becomes available...

Now, some media pages are suggesting that Corey Parker will miss out with Matt Gillett to debut. And thankfully for us Broncos fans, Wallace has not been selected for the team about to lose 7 series in a row.

I will also assume that Petero will not make the team... Surely he hasn't been playing enough minutes to warrant selection. But at the same time, QLD selectors are known for their loyalty... I suspect I will be updating my team tomorrow, but this is what I would go with...

Now the biggest shock might be Aaron Whitchurch. I feel like this guy is pretty solid defensively and would have more pace than putting a (dedicated) backrower in at centres.

Mal ensures that Civ's spot will be safe which is good for Qld but not for us.

A Show/Civ combination upfront would be awesome, especially if Civ is given the right minutes to show what he's made of.

Is how I see it ending up, Te'o will play 60-80 which Lui can cover. Personally I'd give Gibb ago but I spose Hook see's more potential in nami.

Will be interesting to see how we go, and if Griffin is going to leave players out again this year. I expect Hodges and Thaiday won't be backing up. Probably not Civ either with the little we have been using him this season.

If we don't want to promote anyone from outside the players used this year and last year, I would consider running Wallace and Norman together on the left and move Reed outside Hunt on the right.

Can't see that line up actually happening but I do think during this period we will play at times with McCullough, Norman, Wallace and Hunt on the field at the same time, with Hunt or Norman doing some work of the back rowers. I'd also like to see Glenn named captain, give him some more experience but it will definitely be Parker if he isn't picked for Queensland.

As far as I know, Glasby is not in the Broncos system (I think that at one point in the past, he was), simply because he can't possibly be since the Capras are not one of our feeder teams. I suppose the Broncos could pay him a match fee or something of the like (I don't know the rules) but I really don't see that happening.

I have watched alot of Qld cup over the last 3 seasons and Glasby has been a standout.I heard the Mackay coach on the news claiming Tim Glasby as the best prop in the Qcup.That is a huge rap from an oposition coach.He also played 80mins in the second row last week against the devils.
