What a mess. How much money have they got? I'd happily take Sullivan back. I don't believe he got a fair go, and now with Hunt gone, he could have been told "OK son. Here's your chance. Make that position yours and show us what you've got". Hunt was a roadblock in more ways than one.
Sullivan wouldn't accept a backup role.
I'd sign JAC at the right price.
I'd sign May and Lodge at the right price.
Hetherington is available also
Flanno also needs to find a top grade halfback to replace Hunt.

Allegedly from Zero Tackle.
"There are at least four clubs linked to him, (Hunt).” Carayannis said. “You have the Bulldogs, Roosters, Dolphins and Broncos, who are a bit of a smokey."

Listen numb nuts. Isn't the situation that he wants to head back to Queensland? So why would the Bullcheats and Rorters be interested? FMD Carayannis!
I'm so over the Hunt situation. I personally don't give a shit where he ends up.
In Flano I trust.

For beeps sake - we let our beeping marquee player go!!!!.

Our Ace card

At the very least I want to see a Wishart replacement !!

Sorry, But Atkinson Douegh etc as a replacement for Ben Hunt - NOPE !!
Sorry Gardenia, he wasn't our ace card, he was a noose around our neck with his style of play and his selfishness. There has been no more destabilising influence on a Million a year at the club. I'm more than happy we didn't have to pay him out and he's gone.

Even at his very best, before he came to the Dragons, I never saw Hunt as being a complete half-back. His capacities to organise, choose the right attacking option, short kick accurately, put a player into a gap as greats like Joey in the past and Cleary do now were never really there. His main attacking attribute was his physical strength near the line and to that extent, he was like a smaller version of Brandon Smith- ie a Hooker.
Whats going to be fascinating for dragons fans is watching how he goes in another system.. will he suck.. will he take the backseat to a Katoa or Reynolds? Can he be a running 6? And if so why couldnt he do it at Saints.. fascinating stuff, I think I speak for all of us when I say that I hope he is truly awful (for our sake).

Quite a few people saying Allan is surplus. Honestly he’s probably on close to minimum wage. What I would do is, try offloading Rava (paying a club 100k) getting JAC for 400 extra 100k from Rava is 500k meaning 50k saving. Do a similar thing with lawrie bring in lodge, saving 100k. Then try getting Atkinson in a 500-600 (as mentioned in a previous post) then go hard for May with leftover hunts money + spare change from players moving on.

It’s been mentioned Guthos money isn’t from Hunt’s sale which it isn’t though that 900 we had left over was for an experienced forward.

So now Hunts been sacked to compensate Gutho inclusion (if it happens)

Though I do have a feeling Sloan won’t be waiting around for 3 years until
Gutho contract is over so he could leave imo

We still haven’t heard from the club regarding sele availability since the heart scare.

Though a forward rotation of May,JDB ,Lodge , Sele, Molo does look abit more

Wests Tigers panicked and paid massive overs for Sullivan

if he were willing to accept $200,000-$250,000 per season he would be a great back up at 7.
He wasn't a regular first grader and wasn't being chased by other clubs. Yet they gave him 4 years at $500k. It makes no sense at all. Were the negotiators drunk? And the John Bateman story is even worse. $800k for four years. And he is 31 y.o.

God bless Flanno and the concrete that apparently keeps his hands in his pockets.

How can the Tigers afford to have Sullivan, Fainu, Galvin, Luai, Duiehi on their books as halves.. f**king hell.. were struggling to keep 2 of em, and Kyle is a cheapy...

I hope he stays though just to stuff their cap.. not sure where hes gonna go.. he would be cheap but I assume he has done his dash with Flanno.

Hunts preferred destination club want him as a hooker. I'm interested to see if he goes that way.

Yep. Hunt was physically strong and didn't get injured. That is all the praise that I have for him.

I’d take him back with Tigers paying half.

Sunday Session: Wests Tigers willing to pay Jayden Sullivan $900,000 golden handshake

The Wests Tigers are ready to pay a once-promising star a mouth-watering golden handshake to find another club as they ramp up their NRL roster overhaul.

The Wests Tigers are ready to give Jayden Sullivan a $900,000 golden handshake to help him find a new home.
Sullivan signed a four-year deal, believed to be worth upwards of $2.4 million, to join the Tigers for the 2024 season. But he only managed eight first-grade games, and the Tigers won only once with him in the side.
They are now ready to sever ties with the 23-year-old half in a bid to clear salary cap space and reshape their roster. Sullivan has slipped down the pecking order and is, at best, fourth in line to play in the halves.

Lachlan Galvin and Jarome Luai will be the Tigers’ first-choice options under coach Benji Marshall next season, and they have impressive teenager Latu Fainu waiting in reserve should injury strike.
It means Sullivan is surplus to requirements and the Tigers are happy to help find him a new home by contributing as much as $300,000 a season for the remainder of his contract.
The hope is that, by chipping in up to half of his deal, the Tigers can help Sullivan lock down a spot at one of their NRL rivals.
Sullivan has time on his side as he looks to secure a place in the NRL and realise his unquestionable potential.
Yet the Tigers know they would be better placed spending Sullivan’s salary in other areas of their playing squad given he is unlikely to force his way into the starting side, or even onto the bench.

Fainu looks the likely option to support Galvin and Luai in a bench role, having made nine appearances last season despite battling hamstring problems.
Chief executive Shane Richardson’s predecessor, Justin Pascoe, signed Sullivan, saying in August last year: “I know he’s excited about our plans for next year and beyond, and I welcome Jayden and his family to Wests Tigers.”
Sullivan may not be the only player to leave the Tigers as they prepare for a busy off-season. Richardson has warned John Bateman he needs to toe the line or he could be gone as well while the Tigers are looked in a legal battle with young prop Jordan Miller after he was shown the door.
Richardson has held talks with Brisbane forward Kobe Hetherington while Sydney Roosters prop Terrell May is of interest, having been granted permission to leave Bondi for the 2025 season.

Sullivan would need to lose that chip on his shoulder and come back with his tail between his legs, cant see that happening.

Sloane is on $500k for the next two years. Generous but we were in a bind with no clear other options when that was negotiated. What happens from here on is 100% up to him.

It is up to his coach. If the coach is a controlling figure and tells Hunt to play 9 or a running 6, he will do well. If the coach thinks Hunt is a ball player, it won't work out.

It doesn't really worry me Rev if he kills it at 6 or 9, it will show just what kind of an arsehole he was by not doing that for the Dragons, cant wait for his first game back at Jubilee or WIN.

I'm not sure he follows the gameplan under Flanno.. but I think hes the 'big dog' here.. itll be ideal for him to be second fiddle somewhere else.. or just play hooker.. thats a whole different situation.

At the very worst Sullivan would be solid cover at 7, 6 & 9 if the Tiger are paying most of his salary.
I still think he was horribly mismanaged by Griffin and his development might have turned out differently with a better coach. Also not convinced going to the Tigers was a wise move considering he was going to another dud NRL coach in Benji.
He's got a lot of work to do to though to get back to first grade. I'd take a punt though.

He will play hooker just to piss us off.
