I guess the three monsters on the bench fight for the final position once Nutley comes back...with Bird gone for the season

Which comp?

Certainly not PL, thats harder than the NRL.

Its a good looking side even in the absence of Nutley, you get the feeling that on 'their day' that side could beat any team in the comp....that day hasnt come yet!

Throw in Nutley and our side looks real good to me. On their day I reckon they could beat anyone too. The trouble seems to be stringing those days together. Do that and I'd say we'd be a good chance for the comp. Hope that thought's not just pie in the sky.

Mellars ?

It seems like Raper sees mellars as a replacement of bird on the bench. Weird, I'd really prefer another bopper. Good to see him get a run though.

Vince Mellars? I would have given other players a go before him.. It will be interesting to see if he actually plays. Maybe Mellor is in doubt?
Good looking side though.. Would rather Maiava didn't start though..

I really like that bench. 3 monsters plus one sullivan.

Certainly helps beat the fatigue factor a little more...Although is Mellars really in the 'bopper' or 'workhorse' mould, or is he there for impact/playmaking value? My understanding (I could be wrong) is that he's not really pack material.

I am not convinced that any NRL bench can afford to carry two little guys. I see an extra back as nothing more than injury insurance, surely with Sully there we can shuffle things enough in the backline to cover anything unforseen.

Go with three monsters! REAL monsters!

Mellars' future is in the backrow yet he's the Residents winger.

What does Stosic have to do to stay in?
