Go Corey Vlaciky...was my favourite panther in that Flegg grand final last year.

Has a great offload on him and just a great guy too. Hope he cracks first grade at the Dogs next year.

Newcastle PREMIER LEAGUE

Coach: Trent Robinson

Nathan Hinton - has missed the last few games because he was cut despite having played a few decent games of firstgrade this year. Our best in PL for the last few seasons so good to see him get a run.
Karl Johnson - giant former Warrior who played most of this season for the young guns in Qld but joined Newcastle Wests mid season and picked up by the knights about 6 weeks ago - huge guy.
Wes Tillott - former Manly and Souths firstgrader who played this season for Macquarie United (Toronto) and joined the Knights two weeks ago after Macquarie failed to make the finals.
Paul Franze - in great form - rumoured to be off to play for Pia in france
Cooper Vuna - played half the season for the LIons - joined the Knights and mostly played firstgrade
Marvin Karawana - several firstgrade games in his first year at the Knights
Scott Dureau - best PL player of the year and one decent game of firstgrade
Matthew White - back from the firstgrade bench
Matthew Thurston - former Norths regular - has had a great season
Kade Snowden - cronulla bound big game player
Daniel Tolar - been playing great
Aaron Hartmann - former winger who has been doing alright in the forwards this year
Riley Brown (C) - lock is his best position - he really gets super involved in PL

Interchange:

Brendan Hunt - great young utlity
Tim Natusch - prop signed for next season - deadset lunatic - hard as nails
Hanan Laban - son of the guy behind the wellington orcas bid for the NRL (Ken Laban) - great young guy
Kurt Sorensen - the shortest forward around, but tough as someone named Kurt Sorensen should be
Mitchell Steel - quality young lock or 5/8 - going to Pia with Franze apparently
Larry Taufua - giant young prop.

and if he does qualify - why don't Taia, Carmont, Tanner, Royal, Young etc - all of whom played plenty of PL this year.

Does anyone have a copy of the rules as to how they determine qualification. Does anyone here know this?

His games in Premier League for Auckland must help him qualify for the finals. He only played 4 PL games for the Knights and 10 NRL games, but i think he played 7 PL games for Auckland so he has played more PL than NRL this year.

I don't think it's the best rule.

I think they all played more NRL than PL this year. Taia never even played PL for the Knights.

Does anyone know what the rule is if a player has played the same amount of games in PL as the NRL? Can they play in the PL finals?

I've only seen him play a handful of times and each time he was one of the standouts. A player with a big future.

As for the Flegg team that we have named, it is outstanding. I think we will meet and beat Penrith in the final of that one.

Jarrod Sammut is out of Penrith's Flegg clash Vs Souths Juniors, with a knee injury. He should be fit for the Preliminary Final, if Penrith beat Souths this week and reach that stage.

His replacement will be Lachlan Coote, not a bad replacement :)
