Can't believe the lack of love for Hino in the team.

The guy is a top notch defender, leader and ultra consistent.

He also gives us much needed size in our back row.
yeh i like heino.

been one of our more consistent forwards in the last couple of years.

he played well against the sterm.

I saw heino up at toys r us the other other day.
Bloody big unit.
He looks sort of short on TV compared to the other players.
Looked very fit.
I got bit of movement.

People who think that Heigno offers little need to watch his game harder.
In attack every run he makes a standard 10-15m and never, ever gets pushed back.
Does his simple jobs very well.

I'm also a fan.

No nonsense player but gets plenty done.

This is all good - plenty of depth & competition for spots.

I'm worried how our ageing forwards will go in the back end of the year when teams step up a gear or 2. It's important to have a few to choose from & be able to rest the older guys occasionally.

I thought the left was Beale's preferred side?

Old mate needs to realize we don't exactly have Greg Inglis or Jennings out there at left centre. Loots has had that position cemented now for a while. If his 'combo' with Feki was going to be anything we'd have seen it by now.

Average first grader, always will be. We've know what he's capable of...

Debuted on the left for Brisbane.
Played left for St George.
Plays right for Cronulla.

What I don't get is the love for JSL.

He isn't better than Taga, Prior, Heino or the Twins.

No spot in the team for mine.

I don't get it either. But don't agree re the twins. JSL is as good as David Fifita. You bundle the twins together. My view is Andrew on his day is a high quality dangerous prop. I have never seen David Fifita do anything high quality even in Reggies.

D Fifita gifted a Top 25 spot on promise. Not performance.

The Beale/bird debate is hard to fathom. I have to have Bird in the team but to date his performances at centre have been below Loots and Beale (last year). They are not world beaters but Jack hasn't been either. I wanted him at FB but concede Barba is doing a decent job. Like some others , I saw Bird as a running lock. He doesn't want to play there probably as his body won't stand up to it.

I don't understand the Loots criticism. Not his fault the other centre partners he has been matched with are not explosive attackers. Does a good job as a defensive centre, IMO.

Early to decide on Bird as a centre. Done little so far and has a tendency to crab sideways looking for a gap.

Yes, but I think the NSW cup has their own cap, and you cannot simply play first graders, otherwise as an example, if your first grade was out of contention you could play the firsts in reggies to win it. They do not allow that.

I am pretty sure that is why Beale is not named there. Otherwise why would not give him a run, you reckon the reggies coach would not want him? He has had f**k all time on the pitch and would need a run.

You cannot pick them all I get that, can only explain why he is not playing reggies due to admin factors.

You sure could put all of firsts into reggies if you want. You'd need to put all of reggies into firsts to play that game though. Then you'd need to explain to sponsors, fans, the players and possibly the NRL why you're taking reggies more seriously than the main competition.

The only rule that I'm aware of is that a player needs to have played a certain number of games through the season in reggies to be allowed to play in their finals.

I would say Bird has been going better then Loots, everytime Bird get the ball he does something bounces out of tackle he looks dangerous even if nothing comes of it sometimes it makes defense make a decision.
Loots just seems to take the tackle no busting out of tackle, no threat to line.

Jordan Drew not named in NSW Cup is he out injured

On JSL i would like to see him get game time, only in that at least we know what he has to offer, I think its important that as come origin time, we have potential 4-5 forwards who could get called up A.Fifita, Ennis, Graham, Lewis, Gallen - its important for the club to be able to forwards who can cover, puting JSL as 17th player for couple of weeks at least we then know if can cover.

In the backs Barba/Bird potential to be called up we have cover for them

I can see your point, Messiah, but I think we just bide our time. If they are playing well for Newtown Jets, that's okay - they will maintain their match fitness.

If some of our boys do get called up for SOO, which seems likely, we can use them then, we don't have to test them out beforehand.

Your criticism on David is as bad as Barba. Just confirms your blind bias. All good.

Bird could be a smokey Origin 14. Gawd knows nsw need some fresh blood.

Any word on Holmes left hand injury? Beale in on Saturday with Holmes out is what I'm thinking.
