A triple blow for India as it prepares for today's first one-dayer against the Black Caps in Auckland.
Ace batsman Sachin Tendulkar has been ruled out of the day/nighter with an ankle injury and he will be joined in the stands by all rounder Sanjay Bangar and spin bowler Harbhajan Singh who are both carrying niggles.
The team physio says Tendulkar was bowling in the nets this week when he sprained his right ankle.
He says if necessary they will rest Tendulkar from the second one-dayer in Napier as well.
Two o'clock is the scheduled start time this afternoon at Eden Park.
It's raining in Auckland this morning however the showers are forecast to clear for the afternoon.
Meantime one player in the Black Caps determined to make his mark on this series is wicket-keeper-batsman Brendon McCullum.
McCullum struggled on debut for New Zealand last summer...but he reckons he's a much better player now.
He says he is a much more disciplined player with a lot more to offer the side.

================================================

The one-dayer between New Zealand and India at Eden Park got underway on time today, despite rain earlier in the morning.
After winning the toss and sending the visitors into bat, the Black Caps have quickly secured five wickets.
It's smiles all round for the Black Caps as they finish the innings with India all out for 108 in the 32nd over.
Jacob Oram has had a superb game so far with five wickets off 10 overs.
Stephen Fleming and Nathan Astle will be the opening batsman for New Zealand.

Thirty two dollars for great seats in the South Stand...birds eye view. Didn't purchase any beer or food, but I would imagine that it would be as outrageously priced as any sporting fixture.
