We lost Stef and IP. We might have lost Bateman although now I don't care as much. We've lost Sione Fainu but that isn't over yet.

Maybe losing Stef and IP and gaining May and Hunt is a wash but I'm not sold on that just yet. Still we've also gained Luai, Turuva and Bird plus with have Makasini coming in as a gun junior.

I hope we re-sign Sione Fainu as we are a bit light on middle forward depth + we need to keep Fainu family together.

If everything goes well I think we hold off for a marquee back rower to become available and then we are a serious contender.

I wouldn't pick this guy for first grade period. I'd play him in reserves as an edge backrower to see if he can make it in that position. Apart from that selection though that team is cooking with gas.

I haven't even considered Bateman staying either but maybe he'd go okay for us with that team around him.

It'll be interesting where they play Bird.

I also want us to sign Sione. I think he was great last year.

Most of us forum Tigers will pick similar sides now because a gap is starting to emerge between the top 30 player's worth, their talent, credentials and potential.
The thing is though we'll have a cap burnout if we can't replace a few oldies with up and comers in the next year or so.
We have Makasini who will come in and replace someone on the way out which was a great signing.
I just hope we can be that development club that we seek.
Jimbo your list is good. The only standout change for me is if To'a is fit I'd have him in there.
Also Turuva could slip into the centres allowing Skelton, Staines and Laulilii to fight for wing spots...the inform players get the spots! Turuva will keep Bula honest too at fullback

We put a broom thru the front office and now the players. We just couldn't keep the majority of players that were responsible for delivering those spoons to us.
Benji came out and said that and we've raised the bar by issuing breach notices for players who don't comply, now the players just need to buy in and away we go.

We have 30 contracted players and he hasn't been announced so at this point he is gone. My assumption with no inside info is that if they can get rid of a player they may sign him.

I think now we have a top 8 roster but I think we should sign Sione as well. I like his impact off the bench.

Yeh that's how I read it.
I was just wondering if I've missed something.
Would you prefer Sione over Bateman?
Sione is cheaper and has more of a future, but still would cost if we're throwing in a gazillion to offload Bud and pay some of Bateman's contracts.....it's a nightmare to workout the dollars and cents.
Best to have depth if we have the space.
Blokes like Bateman and Klemmer may improve with a bit of a team upgrade.
Bateman was trying to do everything but he's too small to do any middle stuff when required. Because he has to go all in against bigger bodies his adrenalin causes errors and dumb sin bin stuff.
