Don't know if he's as explosive as Fa's but he looks a good front row prospect at just 21.

He is a starting prop with 60 minutes in him for the Centurions.

We are currently asking him to play 35 or 40 and go hard, and that is what he is doing, but after 15 or 20 games he should be a player with 60 minutes in him.

He has always been keener in attack than defence, and i think he'd make a good partner for a hard worker in defence, but he could become a starter in time.

He has always been an 80 minute second rower.

Tets isn't even 21 yet, I've always had a high opinion of him from the first time I saw him play SG Ball, he just had that perfect build, and always liked quite likely. Watch how good the kid will be next year after another pre season and a few more games under his belt. Just gotto love seeing a big young forward who runs hard

The Newcastle Knights are pleased to announce Zane Tetevano has re-signed with the Club for a further two years.

The New Zealand born forward has been at the Knights for four years after he was invited to junior representative trials in 2007. He played one season in the SG Ball, two years in Toyota Cup before moving into the full time squad this year.

Tetevano played 18 games in the NSW Cup team this season before earning selection to make his NRL debut in Round 20.
The 20 year-old’s re-signing comes after two solid performances in the NRL but contract negotiations were already underway.

“Zane is a great young talent coming through our system in Newcastle and we have seen over the last two weeks what he is capable of at the top level," coach Rick Stone said.

“We brought Zane to the Club as a 17 year-old so it is particularly pleasing for the Club to be rewarded for the time and development put into him.

“He is a dynamic running forward who has some genuine line breaking ability and he is a real find and boost for the NRL squad, particularly at this time of the year.”

Tetevano is delighted to be extending his contract with the Newcastle Knights.

“I am grateful to the Knights for what they have done for me and I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else,” Tetevano said.

“The Club has really looked after me and I also have a close group of friends and family in the area.

“I feel fortunate for the opportunity I have been given at the Knights and I just want to do well for my teammates and to make my family proud.”

Tetevano has today been selected on an extended interchange bench for Sunday’s game against the Canberra Raiders at Ausgrid Stadium.

Good stuff, well deserved. Rick and Wayne must be stoked with the likes of Eddy, Pete, Zane, Filipo, Stig, Roberts all looking the part in first grade. I am sure it will free up some $$ as cheap depth, as opposed to needing to fork out for recruits.

Great news!

Tets has taken to first grade just like all our other debutants this year. Really has been one of the highlights of 2011 of these great debuts.

all these guys trained with the firstgrade squad.
I think the only two guys who trained with firstgrade this year who haven't got a run are Mika and Ailoami, and I think Chad Redman might have done some time in the firstgrade squad after the schoolboys tour.
Stone picked all these kids to shine 8 months ago.

Mika has played a couple of first grade games this year, B2.

Likiliki and KOD would be the two surprise non-FG starters I'd say.

So good to hear Zane is staying. I was really impressed with his runs esp. against Titans. Even started a banner so hopefully it will get plenty of use. Love seeing the young ones grow & become part of the team
