Just watching this again for what must be the 12th time. What a great DVD. If you haven't seen it I highly recommend you get it.

"That's Rugby League at it's very best..."

Wonderful stuff.

Yep, it's a pearler....never get sick of it.

The version I have goes to 1994 with Jack Elsgood kind of finishing it off. I've always thought they should update it after every 10 years - really is a quality RL DVD.

My (ever thoughtful) Mum was down at the video store back in about 2000 and got that out for me with a bunch of other videos. I remember watching and thinking what a shame it was that in the video, it ends on such an optimistic note for the games' future, unaware of the Sewerleague war and the greed that was about to bring the game to its' knees.

A quality production, would be great to see an updated version!

The final chapter in the DVD I have is 1988- 2000...

Yeah but I think the DVD version only goes up to 1994, even though the chapter says till 2000.

I've always thought they should update it after every 10 years - really is a quality RL DVD.

Well as I mentioned before on the "100 years of RL" video, they updated it in 1999 and the story ends mid 1999 talking about the Wests Tigers merger.

Still with Warwick Moss narrating on the video.

Obviously there was an update on the history of the game on the "Centenary of Rugby League DVD Collection". The only disappointment was was that it was all over the place, rather than a year by year story like in Thats Rugby League.

One of the best things about Thats Rugby League they not only go through the history of Rugby League but also even arounds the world.

That's Rugby League was made by Graham McNeice & released in early months of 1995. In 2008 I was fortunate enough to work with Graham when he made another RL doco along a similar chronological style/length for the History Channel, which still screens it from time to time. Called 'The Spirit of Australian Sport: Rugby League' it was available to buy. You could contact http://www.gmptv.com.au/

Someone posted a slab of it here >

Rugby League's parade of champion's walk the stage of That's Rugby League, Graham McNeice's astonishing panoramic tribute to the great and ferocious game which has thrilled fans in two hemispheres for 100 years.

The story of Rugby League told on film for the first time, through it's great players, great moments and fiery controversies. Here is footage never seen before, stories never told and fabulous film of some of the greatest moments in all Australian sport.
