That was my recollection as well.I was not there, but a close friend and fellow Sharkie had a shop in the mall and most weekends had his mall display’s tipped over. They walked up and down the mall disrespecting the locals and if you pushed back the level of abuse was ugly. Lots of stuff like that never made the ABC program. I was in the mall recently and it’s all very nice now. Back in the day we took our girls to the Double A steak house.
Largely promoted as race related, and that certainly flamed a lot of what followed, but all stemmed from law and order issues.
Friends had late teen/early 20s sons at the time and they ended up avoiding the area as they would be harassed until a fight broke out. Often by a pip squeek one on one then when it started there's be a mass pile on.
