Right, first off, this is not a bitch fight thread, so if all you have got to contribute is "you're a moron for saying that you nong" or efforts to that effect, please pi$$ off somewhere else.

This is about plumbing the knowledge (and lack of) contained in these forums and going back to see who was the most right / wrong at the end of the year. Some answers are going to be completely subjective, so there aint really gonna be an outright winner. It's about Rugby League knowledge and articulating a point.

Remember, if you're not going to answer the (almost) 10 questions don't bother replying.

#1. 2 from 4. ie name 2 of the 4 teams who will play for the right to appear in the Grand Final

#2. Most improved points wise from 2009's effort

#3. Most improved overall. Remember, a team making the finals, not getting the wooden spoon or winning a Grand Final are all viable, but so is say a complete team spirit improvement. You job is to state your case (briefly)

#4. Most disappointing. Again this is subjective. Failing to make the eight when you should or not winning the Premiership yet again or getting the wooden spoon all count as valid reasons. As does just being a dribbling f**king mess 90% of the time. So say Manly coming 10th when MX tip them to come 5th could be a bigger disappointment than say a team getting the wooden spoon when they're expected to. State your case.

#5. State of Origin outcome.

#6. Coach of the year.

#7. Bust out year. Who showed promise last year that's going to set the World alight this year?

#8. Highest try scorer.

#9. Dally M Winner

#10. Grand Final Winners.

#10.1 Wooden spooners.

(I will put my answers in before kick off round 1)

#1. 2 from 4.
Melbourne and Parramatta

#2. Most improved points wise from 2009
Roosters - it's really between them and the Sharks, and it won't be the Sharks.

#3. Most improved overall.

West Tigers. Will threaten for the top four imo, and actually stand a chance of doing something in the finals if/when they get there.

#4. Most disappointing.
Cronulla, bottom four. So many expectations of improvement (from their fans) but will have so little to show for it (again).

#5. State of Origin outcome.

Queensland 2-1, with the series alive in the final match for a change.

#6. Coach of the year.

Daniel Anderson

#7. Bust out year.
Sam Burgess (obviously)

#8. Highest try scorer.

Michael Jennings

#9. Dally M Winner

Greg Inglis

#10. Grand Final Winners.

Parramatta :D

#10.1 Wooden spooners.

Newcastle, even if they buy Sonny Bull.

1. 2 From 4
Parramatta and Wests Tigers

2. Most Improved Points Wise
Roosters, should be just outside the eight.

3. Most Improved Overall
Souths, will finally be consistent (enough) to finish somewhere near the Top 4.

4. Most Disappointing
Manly, can see them slipping big time. Sharks won't go anywhere either.

5. State of Origin outcome
Same as I've said the last three years, NSW 2-1.

6. Coach of the Year
Daniel Anderson

7. Bust Out Year
Kevin Locke

8. Highest Try Scorer
Nathan Merritt

9. Dally M Winner
Nathan Hindmarsh (doubt it, a halfback will probably get it once again!)

10. Grand Final Winners
Parramatta

10.1 Wooden Spooners
Sharks

#1. Melbourne Storm and Manly Sea Eagles.
#2. Sydney Roosters.
#3. Wests Tigers. A genuine chance to actually make some noise in the finals.
#4. South Sydney Rabbitohs. Premiership contenders? Haha.
#5. NSW 2-1. Queensland's dominance comes to an end.
#6. Des Hasler.
#7. Keiran Foran.
#8. Josh Morris.
#9. Jamie Lyon. Captaincy, more responsibility, he is going to have a big year.
#10. Manly Sea Eagles defeating Melbourne Storm, the decider.
#10.1 New Zealand Warriors. Completely hopeless.

I'm a bit biased, but meh.

#1. St George Illawarra and South Sydney

#2. Sydney Roosters

#3. South Sydney

#4. Parramatta Eels - I'm basing this not on the fact that i think they will miss out on the 8 or finish last, but based on the fact that many have them pencilled in as premiers after last season but i think they will once again just scrape into the 8.

#5. NSW 2-1. They will win the first two and lose the third.

#6. John Lang

#7. I have a feeling about Jamal Idris even though many feel he is over-rated. He just really impressed me in the Mercury Challenge.

#8. Jason Nightingale. Poised for a big season I think.

#9. Robbie Farah

#10. St George Illawarra. Might seem biased but I just think they will build on last years experience and bad end to the season and go all the way.

#10.1. Newcastle Knights - Team of nobodies, nobody coach, and two of their best props too busy with the authorities. Sounds like a recipe for the wooden spoon to me.

#1. 2 from 4.
Parramatta and Canterbury

#2. Most improved points wise from 2009
Roosters

#3. Most improved overall.
Souths- I can see them finishing in the second half of the top 8, provided they have a clear run without too many lengthy injuries or suspensions.

#4. Most disappointing.
Manly. If Stewart is outed for assault and nobody becomes influential at half-back, they'll have problems.

#5. State of Origin outcome.
NSW 3-0. I dream.

#6. Coach of the year.
Brian Smith. Rothfield to become violently ill and Hadley to go into meltdown.

#7. Bust out year.
Sam Burgess

#8. Highest try scorer.
Billy Slater

#9. Dally M Winner
Benji Marshall

#10. Grand Final Winners.
Parramatta

#10.1 Wooden spooners.
The Cowboys, with the Warriors running them close.

Apey. As insightful and witty as your input was. Please read the rules of the thread. No comments required thanks. Just answers to the questions.

#1. 2 from 4.
Bulldogs and St George

#2. Most improved points wise from 2009
Roosters (although I almost said North Queensland there for a mad minute)

#3. Most improved overall.
I'm seriously tempted to say Tigers or Penrith, but I'm going to go with Souths based on the fact that they're a proper top 8 proposition and will finish 5th.

#4. Most disappointing.
The Broncos. First time they miss the eight since Noah was a boy. Strangely, this will also be the most satisfying for those outside of Brisbane.

#5. State of Origin outcome.
2-1 NSW with a Golden Point penalty try as the final action of the game. Gordon Tallis will scream "it's a fix", Wally Lewis will be elected Premier of Queensland and will declare war on NSW. Try topping that AFL. Go on.

#6. Coach of the year.
Keven Moore (Bulldogs)

#7. Bust out year.
I was going to say Adrian Cherrington (but that's the 2011 prediction now)
Arana Tuamata - Wests Tigers

#8. Highest try scorer.
Nightingale (Dragons)

#9. Dally M Winner
Petro (none more deserving surely?)

#10. Grand Final Winners.
Bulldogs

#10.1 Wooden spooners.
Sadly I think it's Newcastle purely due to the turmoil there. I hope not though.

Michael Jennings. He looks really good.

#9. Dally M Winner

Hayne

Storm

Sydney Roosters. They've recruited well.

#4. Most disappointing. Again this is subjective. Failing to make the eight when you should or not winning the Premiership yet again or getting the wooden spoon all count as valid reasons. Brisbane. They will finally drop out of the eight.

#5. State of Origin outcome.
NSW will get back to 2-1 after a shocking loss in Game One.

#1. 2 from 4 - Dragons and Titans.

#2. Most improved points wise from 2009's effort - Roosters

#3. Most improved overall. Penrith. They should have a big year. They have a set of forwards who aren't the best, but together they're great hard workers. Their outside backs are exciting and their halves, whilst young, are still capable of guiding them to a lot of victories. I think they'll go close to a top 4 finish.

#4. Most disappointing. Parramatta. They have so much expectations and pretty much every single person in the rugby league world are tipping them to come first and win it all. They have an OK side but I don't think they'll do as well as people think, thus disappointing many.

#5. State of Origin outcome. NSW 3-0 led by Kimmorley, Barrett and Watmough.

#6. Coach of the year. - Kevin Moore to win back to back titles.

#7. Bust out year. Jamal Idris and Robert Lui to go great guns.

#8. Highest try scorer. - Brett Morris again. He's too good of a finisher.

#9. Dally M Winner - A close call between Thurston, Farah and Ennis.

#10. Grand Final Winners. - Titans v Bulldogs. Bulldogs by 2.

#10.1 Wooden spooners. - Eagles.

#2. Most improved points wise from 2009's effort - Roosters

#3. Most improved overall. Roosters- Should bounce back from last season with a top 8 birth

#4. Most disappointing. Parramatta. The weight of expectation with no onfield general........Can't simply rely on the game they played last year...Someone will wise up to it.

#5. State of Origin outcome. NSW 2-1.

#6. Coach of the year. - Craig Bellamy

#7. Bust out year. Jared Warea Hargreaves, Sam Burgess, Russell Packer

#8. Highest try scorer. - easy...Michael Jennings

#9. Dally M Winner - Issac Luke or Luke Lewis.

#10. Grand Final Winners. - Melbourne v Souths....Melbourne annihilate the bunnies after a number of key players choke on the biggest stage...

#10.1 Wooden spooners. - Cowboys

#2. Most improved points wise from 2009
Sydney Roosters

#3. Most improved overall.

Sydney Roosters. Will improve their discipline on and off the field under Brian Smith, and will win at least 10 games (double their wins tally in 2009) in 2010.

#4. Most disappointing.
South Sydney. After being billed as Premiership contenders pre-season, their big buys in Burgess and Taylor won't have the effect fans hope for, and a huge mid-season slump will see them somewhere between 7-13.

#5. State of Origin outcome.

New South Wales 2 - 1 Queensland

#6. Coach of the year.

Craig Bellamy (Melbourne Storm). Will take Melbourne to a 5th consecutive Grand Final.

#7. Bust out year.
Josh Dugan (Canberra Raiders)

#8. Highest try scorer.

Brett Morris (St George Illawarra)

#9. Dally M Winner

Jamie Soward (St George Illawarra)
