Nepotism or not I think if we lose to Ricky's boys Ilias will get his turn to guide a team with waning spirit and a coach that will be able to say I told you so if wins don't happen and justify Kyle's extended period in firsts. Myself I favour neither but cannot understand the logic to sign Kyle to a 2 year extension ( I do not think we would have much trouble resigning him at the end of each season )tying up good money that could be used on a decent player should one become available ,after all if we find a 7 the only thing that keeps him in the 1sts is an injury to Cook or Liddle or maybe one of them will end up in the reserves because of the need to work on parts of their game

Ridiculous comments from Flanagan that Ilias has some “good games” and “bad games” in NSW Cup when they have won 10 of their past 12 games. The facts are that his son would not get a start in first grade under any other coach at any other NRL club.

If Ilias has a shocker and n his first game back and I mean a “Howler” ………. What next
Yeah, I see what you’re saying. It’s always a risk, and I remember when Ravawala came back into first grade and struggled. But honestly, I just feel bad for Ilias. He’s clearly putting in the work and doing everything that’s asked of him, yet still can’t seem to get a proper chance in the starting squad. It’s gotta be frustrating for him, especially knowing how much potential he has. I just hope he gets the opportunity he deserves, whether it’s with us or somewhere else.

And the club and coach have said that Kyle was not signed as a 7...they are still looking for a 7 to sign. He is playing there because he is currently the best 7 contracted to the club now. He is better than Lachlan Ilias, at the moment....deal with it

I think it is fair to say that the kicking at goal pressure by Kyle in those conditions against the top team in the comp with 10 of our players out

10 of our 18 points he contributed yesterday

well that was irrefutably the difference in the game

absolutely in the zone and iced it

if Kyle wasn’t playing yesterday ? It would have been a loss

but for me his pressure on Fogarty and he holding the shape for LKT to get outside in that first half was really nice to watch

evolving LKTs role

Lachie would not have been close to that effort yesterday and with no other goal kicker it is stupid when Anasta doesn’t take that into account for team selection

Ilias has been mostly bog average in NSW cup. But don’t let facts get in the way of your uninformed story.
The facts are Ilias wouldn’t get a start in first grade under any other coach. Wayne Bennett was at the top of that list when he told him he wouldn’t be playing first grade in his team.

As someone else has replied to you..
Go watch reserve grade games and you’ll see Illias is f**king shit! I see more balls on the ground the to players arms.
Kyle is our best 7 at the club, yes not a marquee but he does a job! Even Glover hasn’t been great.
Ramsey has been the standout in cup.
