The 2019 USARL Season has Kicked Off (Believe it or Not)

Two games were played at the weekend in the USARL Southern Conference although you wouldn’t know if you go to the USARL website.

The Brooklyn Kings don't seem to have any changes to their website since two years ago. They don't have a FB account and they last updated Twitter in February. I just don't understand the apathy.

You're looking in the wrong place i'm guessing Deluded. This is the main way to follow the Kings, not as up to date as their usual high quality stuff but they've over 5,000 followers here https://www.facebook.com/kingsrugbyleague/

That's more than a lot of League one clubs over here

Thanks but what’s the point of a FB link on their website if it’s obsolete? After trying the link on their own website and getting a blank how am I supposed to know all of these secret links USARL teams seem to have?

Haha that's a pretty good point! Tbh I've mentioned it before but websites are a dying breed, ours does itself based on what we post to social media, it's only there to serve as a shop front effectively. If we had to actually update it we probably wouldn't bother but it's quite a clever little thing. It serves its purpose but does next to nothing and I don't think anyone even looks at it!

See, even someone involved in the USARL can’t find out any confirmed scores. How difficult is it to get information out there in this day and age? I’m rapidly losing interest in the USARL because of the lack of any effort to put any news or scores on readily available media outlets. It’s too much like hard work trying to find things out and I don’t have the time or the inclination.

Yes Lakeland Renegades won their first ever game over the Atlanta Rhinos 22-18. I totally agree with the coverage. It's so hard to find results. I'm trying to get into it and watch some games and follow the league but they do make it hard. I follow all the teams on Instagram and you sometimes get score updates there. It's shocking that you can't find barely any information on their official sites. I kind of want to offer my help and update their web pages for them just so the fans can actually find the information they want. If it wasn't for Nate from the RL in America Podcast, no one would know anything about the league.

I would expect the NGB to have some articles leading up to a new season and scores updated. The National Conference League in the UK expect a score to be rung or emailed in within a set time of a game finishing so they can upload to their website. The USARL are becoming like the Russian Federation of Clubs.

They will but it's a rebuilding phase for a few of us. In any sport teams are cyclical, Atlanta and us started at the same time 6 years ago so that group of players that those teams had have gradually broken up and its about finding new talent. We lost a chunk of our squad to lakeland which is fine but it puts a strain on. These next couple of years are about finding the next group of players to develop, we had eight guys playing yesterday with less than five games experience and it shows ultimately. Actually, it's been a pretty good time for copperheads and lakeland to come along because if you'd have put those teams against the Atlanta, mayhem or jax sides of 2016/2017 it would be a blood bath

As far as your comparison you can't compare pro leagues to amateurs. Yes the usarl do jack shit but our clubs are all volunteer organisations ultimately. If I wasn't sat at home in my living room in England the mayhem page wouldn't have been updated in truth. The guys on the ground have enough to do
