The eagles are in a good spot... Sirianni is a culture HC who doesnt call plays and the defensive side is squared away with Fangio, and Roseman has such great job security that he can afford to be aggressive to ensure the team is constantly attempting (not always working!) to find talent in every avenue available to them

And that just leaves the OC/Play calling role, which with all those other aspects being covered means if you're a talented offensive mind and play caller and want a route to being a HC - there is no better one than the Eagles OC job.

If you show up and do well as the OC of the eagles, you're going to get HC interviews
If the Eagles were looking externally I’d love to see them give Tee Martin a shot. He had a fair amount of college experience across a lot of different programs… but the work he’s done with Lemar over the past 2 seasons has been impressive.

Not too sure about him as a playcaller… but I look at how he’s developed Lamar these past 2 years into 1st all pro in both seasons and I think Hurts could really make big leaps under him.

he doesn’t seem to get mentioned in a lot of these vacancies so maybe there’s probably more issues with him but I’d love to see a good team like the Eagles take a punt on him.

Who do we want in attendance to witness the unfurling of our banner on opening night?

Home opponents are

Cowboys
NYG
Washington
Chicago
Detroit
Denver
Raiders
Rams

Detroit sticks out like a sore thumb for me.

Washington another good option although they don't generally like to do divisional matchups

If they are wanting to save both of those for primetime later in the season then Rams and Broncos are ok options.

I'd like to get the Raiders in there... hoist the banner, drop a f**king hammer and move on to week 2
But the NFL will want a more marquee match up. Denver for those reasons are pretty unlikely. Pretty low wattage stuff having an intra-conference match up
Agreed that they're unlikely to make it a divisional game, so im ruling out Commies, Giants and Cowboys

Chi - Rams - Detroit

One of those teams and i think the biggest marquee match up is definitely Detroit and will be the heavy favourite to open the season. The Rams are the other one, but if Stafford isnt there, that might be a tough sell too

I think it'll be the Rams. The reason why I'm not sold on it being the Lions is because they were thrust into banner night against the chiefs last season.

Broncos would be my smokey. Bo Nix in primetime to open the season is very Goodell

Bears might not be the worst option either actually, especially if they do something in free agency and the draft.

Philadelphia/Chicago markets are huge for ratings too.

Patullo promoted to OC

I like keeping this in house because we don't need someone with a fresh ideas and a whole new scheme at this stage. Patullo just needs to keep doing what's working and we was closely involved in that this season as passing coach.

Bit worried about his lack of play calling experience
That's going to be something to monitor early season... play calling is a bit of an art form and no everyone has the juice on that front

But other than that i think it's a good move. Nuss is going with Kellen too, so they need a QB coach... if they could get a guy like Frank Reich or Mike McCoy, guys who have been around a long time, seen it all and know how to coach fundamentals, i think that'll work really well... would be very helpful if that Qbs coach has play calling experience... just in case

Well looks like the tush push is on the chopping block. What a bunch of sooks.

The Packers have officially asked for it to be considered at the next meeting where it would need 24/32 votes to be banned. The Packers twice were successful with a tush push using their tight end against us int he wild card round.

The Bills coach also wants it banned which is hilarious given they are the only other team who run it with such a high success rate.

NFL data confirmed no injuries were sustained from the Brotherly shove. We are still good.
That doesn't matter if 24 owners vote in favour. All that is required is an official request to vote on it which the Packers owner has put forward.

I reckon it will be banned.

I just don’t see it being banned this season.

It makes you wonder how bad all of these other teams are at such a simple, “no skill involved” play that none of them are able to run it successfully with any consistency.

I’d love to see the birds run it for the whole game at Lambeu next season.

The ironic thing if it gets banned... We will just give the rock to the best RB in the game lol

Nothing would make me happier than seeing them tish push their whole way down the field for a TD... Imagine the meltdown.

Yeah chalk me up as someone who doesnt think it'll be banned
I dont think there is really any grounds to do so because it's not a player safety issue, the competition committee already looked at it last year
The eagles propose a rule almost every year to get rid of onside kicks and replace it with 4th and 20 play and it's never made it to a vote either

I dont think it even gets to a vote this year but even if it did, i dont think 24 teams would vote to push it through and come up with a rule to ban it that wouldnt impact other areas of the game (if you cant push to assist the runner, what happens when a RB or WR gets halted short of the line to gain/goal line and OL rush to push him forward. Is that ok?)

They will just go with not being able to line up behind the QB on a sneak
