Johns ?

But considering he admitted to being off his face most of his career will he be considered ?

Fittler ?

substance abuse will probably keep Johns out of it. The NRL would get an incredible amount of heat from it and would give plenty of ammunition to rival codes. If that wasn't the case then i wouldn't see a drama with him being included eventually, maybe not the next one but a definate addition down the line.

Out of those still living atm that i can think of the one with the most records, titles, accolades and being the worlds best at some stage in 2 very different positions it would be Lockyer

On playing ability alone (which should be the only criteria) it has to be Joey by a decent margin.

Andrew Johns is the greatest halfback of all time. When QLD and NSW were relatively equal and both had Joey and Lockyer at the peak of their powers, guess which state was doing the ass whooping.

Then Joey retires, we haven't been near them since.

It has to be Andrew Johns for the "Immortal" system to be taken seriously.

/thread.

There should not be an 8th. It is becoming political as it is, and I bet heather gets it.

Yet Johns was the best player I have seen, and I saw 4 immortals play. And of the players they will chose from, they will look post Lewis.

But regardless, no player can ever be selected the same way as the originals were, because politics will rule the day. We saw that with the team of the century block voting from Queensland.

Besides, it aint official anyway.

It's not the NRL's decision. It's the opinion of a magazine. Nothing more, nothing less.

Couldn't care less to be honest.

The immortals is basically a list of the editors favourite players from when they were kids, in no way resembling a list of the greatest players to ever play the game.

The NRL seriously needs to stop promoting this ridiculous list and start promoting its own Hall of Fame
