The squad, 52 when including those initially exempt (except for the West Tigers players) is:

Andrew Johns
Andrew Ryan
Anthony Minichiello
Anthony Tupou
Ashley Harrison
Ashton Sims
Ben Creagh
Ben Hornby
Ben Kennedy
Ben Ross
Billy Slater
Braith Anasta
Brent Kite
Brent Tate
Brett Kimmorley
Cameron Smith
Carl Webb
Clint Newton
Craig Fitzgibbon
Craig Gower
Craig Wing
Danny Buderus
Darren Lockyer
Dean Young
Eric Grothe
Greg Inglis
Jason Ryles
John Sutton
Johnathan Thurston
Luke Bailey
Luke Lewis
Luke O’Donnell
Mark Gasnier
Mark O’Meley
Matt Bowen
Matt Cooper
Matt King
Michael Crocker
Nathan Hindmarsh
Petero Civoniceva
Rhys Wesser
Ryan Cross
Shaun Berrigan
Steve Menzies
Steve Price
Steve Simpson
Timana Tahu
Tim Smith
Trent Barrett
Trent Waterhouse
Willie Mason
Willie Tonga

Those in red are the bolters in my opinion, but some i believe definate;y do not deserve to be in the squad, whilst some are extremely unlucky to not be there. Luke Lewis, Andrew Ryan (who is slightly out of form), Michael Crocker, Willie Tonga (who needs to show form & fitness before selection) & Willie Mason all are very lucky to be included. Ty Williams & Amos Roberts both had far better seasons than Lewis, & even Luke Rooney is far more qualified due to previous performances. Justin Hodges, Paul Bowman, Chris Flannery, Yileen Gordon, Luke Macdougall, Anthony Watmough, Dean Widders, Ben Smith, Peter Cusack, Scott Geddes (his form at the end of 2005 was brilliant) & Danny Nutley all could have been viable options, along with the Tigers unavailable (probably Prince, Laffranchi, Hodgson, Farah, & Richards)

So my final squad, a 60 Man training squad, would be:

Amos Roberts
Andrew Johns
Anthony Laffranchi
Anthony Minichiello
Anthony Tupou
Anthony Watmough
Ashley Harrison
Ashton Sims

Ben Creagh
Ben Hornby
Ben Kennedy
Ben Ross
Ben Smith
Billy Slater
Braith Anasta
Brent Kite
Brent Tate
Brett Hodgson
Brett Kimmorley
Cameron Smith
Carl Webb
Chris Flannery
Clint Newton
Craig Fitzgibbon
Craig Gower
Craig Wing
Danny Buderus
Darren Lockyer
Dean Widders
Dean Young
Eric Grothe
Greg Inglis
Jason Ryles
John Sutton
Johnathan Thurston
Luke Bailey
Luke O’Donnell
Mark Gasnier
Mark O’Meley
Matt Bowen
Matt Cooper
Matt King
Nathan Hindmarsh
Pat Richards
Paul Bowman
Petero Civoniceva
Rhys Wesser
Robbie Farah
Ryan Cross
Scott Prince
Shaun Berrigan
Steve Menzies
Steve Price
Steve Simpson
Timana Tahu
Tim Smith
Trent Barrett
Trent Waterhouse
Ty Williams
Willie Tonga (i'll put faith in him to find form)

Yileen Gordon, Luke Macdougall, Scott Geddes, Peter Cusack, Justin Hodges, Brad Thorn, John Skandalis, Joel Clinton, Luke Rooney, Michael Crocker, Steven Bell, Danny Nutley, Tonie Carroll, Preston Campbell & Andrew Ryan are all unlucky to miss out.

So what if they play in the ESL. Nutley & Richards, in my honest opinion, are brilliant players, whilst players such as Lewis, Clinton, & ESPECIALLY Willie Mason are rarely in top form.

I never said there was a problem with him playing ESL, dont jump the gun. I asked if he did...

Nuts shouldnt be there, but Richards is alright, but there are alot of better wingers out.
Clinton goes hard most of the time IMO.

Ingliss won't make the final squad. He'll need a solid season with Storm and he'll be playing rep footy in future but not just yet. Watch him blossom playing regular first grade to begin with... ingliss is the new Benji MArshall!

If Greg Inglis, Tim Smith & Ashton Sims could get in, Yileen would be a great option.

I think it's good the younger guys are at least getting recognition.

Good stuff.

Gordon, Sutton, Marshall, Tim and Ben Smith, SBW, Inglis...Players of the future!

Whilst I'm exited about Gordon as anyone, there's no chance in hell he should be anywhere near the Australian side at the moment.

But he's a bloody good prospect. Anyone that can go from A-Grade, to SG Ball, to Jersey Flegg, to Premier League, to First Grade in 8 weeks is a bloody talent. And from all reports he's gotten himself very fit over the off-season... opposition centres beware!

Anthony Watmough i thought should of been in the squad. Started last season as the Dally M leader up untill he got injured played state of origin and is still at a young age. Watmough i think will be in top form again in 2006

I would add Anthony Watmough, Karmichael Hunt and Dean Young onto that list.
