Well Lads, if any of you are ever daft enough to drive up to a booze bus after downing a few, then I fully expect you to abandon the car and head for the hills.

$900 is all she wrote.

How the flock this didn't equate to refusing to take a breath test is beyond me??!! They should have cancelled his licence for the maximum period.

To make matters worse, several magistrates refused to try his case because they didn't want to have to punish the high profile Eagle, and the magistrate who did take the case commented on how disappointed he was (as a rabid Eagle tragic) that he'd have to be the one to apply some form of punishment!!!

Fair dinkum, being a poor unknown sap (as distinct from local football hero) will surely see your fine come in at $1800+, but you'd be mad not to pull the Cousins Defence if you were in a position to and at least keep your licence intact!

Its a better lurk than the Chewbacca Defence.

It's all very meh, judges are notoriously lenient on drink drivers ... However I'd certainly be using the Cousin's sentence as precedent in any appeal if I was caught in WA over the next few years ...
