Both look pretty good on paper.
I think at full potential the 2005 team would win....we really should have won the comp that year.

if only we could merge the forward pack from 05 with the halves and backline of 09 with bennett coaching.

The 05 team isn't accurate. Hornby never sat on the bench. Was either fullback or halfback - through the finals and the second half of the comp he was halfback. Also, Young started at hooker most of the year with Ennis on the bench

05 would win
but matbe that was our problem there was to much direction coming from
to many different players.
these days we have soward n hornby calling the shots all the time

In the 09 team each player knew what there job was and did it well
until we got to the finals

The 2005 side was basically:
01. GREENSHIELDS, Clint
02. BEST, Colin
03. GASNIER, Mark
04. COOPER, Matt
05. NAIQAMA, Wes
06. BARRETT, Trent
07. HORNBY, Ben
08. BAILEY, Luke
09. YOUNG, Dean
10. RYLES, Jason
11. THOMPSON, Lance
12. CREAGH, Ben
13. TIMMINS, Shaun

14. POORE, Justin
15. ENNIS, Michael
16. PAYNE, Corey
17. HENDERSON, Michael
Coach: BROWN, Nathan

and the 2009 side was:
01. BOYD, Darius
02. MORRIS, Brett
03. SCOTT, Beau
04. COOPER, Matt
05. SAILOR, Wendell
06. SOWARD, Jamie
07. HORNBY, Ben
08. WEYMAN, Michael
09. YOUNG, Dean
10. POORE, Justin
11. CREAGH, Ben
12. PRIOR, Matt
13. SMITH, Jeremy

14. HUNT, Dan
15. COSTIGAN, Neville
16. SAFFY, Jarrod
17. NIGHTINGALE, Jason
Coach: BENNETT, Wayne

And for the record I think the 2009 team would win. Better FB, WI's and dare I say a better FE.

There's not much difference between the two on paper. All I can say is, the 2005 team had a better chance of winning the premiership.

Peter Coyne in 92 was a champion.

Brad Mackay & Tallis in the 96 side would have been handy to have kept around.
