The case for adding a NZ team to State of Origin

But apparently, full excuses

Well how many of the 2023 side played in 2024? Less than half. We were picking guys out of England. We also only lost to Tonga by 1 point, and Australia only beat Tonga by 6. Australia has also lost to Tonga before as well. With anything close to a full strength team, we are a problem for any opponent.

The scheduling hasn't been good and international RL needs to be prioritized.

*by 18 points, but who needs details ay

Australia was also without quite a few of their 1st stringers, but hey, details

Like I said, you like shooting your mouth off and making excuses.

You said we lost to lil bro Tonga....that was by 1 point, not 18.

You still had Origin players in the halves. We had to get SJ out of retirement and chuck Charnze at 6. You have far more depth. But against a full strength kiwi side, you got smashed 30-0.

Aust flogged Tonga by 18 points matey

Yes we got beat by NZ, flogged in fact, and yet I make no excuses unlike you.

They say Qlders have a chip on their shoulders but it pales in comparison to the one Kiwis carry around it seems

Origin is such a huge revenue draw for the game but with some of the braindead decisions that the powers that be make I wouldn't be surprised if this one day did happen.

Personally if it was me making the decisions I'd have a designated representative round 3 times a year with Origin as the "main event" of the weekend. New Zealand and other Pacific Island nations could play an annual best of three series against a team or alternatively just swap them around every year plus international games could be played as curtain raisers to the bigger games.

Something like:

Friday: Women's Origin/Fiji Vs Samoa

Saturday: PMXIII Vs PNG (Featuring the best Aussies who didn't make Origin), New Zealand Vs Tonga

Sunday: Origin

---

It becomes a magic round of sorts which is having great success and with all those teams it'd be absolutely can't miss, the international game has had 3 match series' before and they've always been very fun.
