The Chris Beattie Career Highlight Film

Round 25, 2000 - Cronulla V Parramatta
In the legend's (ET) final home game of his 328 game career, Chris Beattie was a bench prop. He rose to infamy in this game with his aggression, taking the fight toa dirty Eels pack lead by Jim Dymock. Beattie headbutted somebody in a scrum and an all-in-brawl developed. Beattie and Eels hooker Dean Schifilitti were sin binned.

Round 2, 2001 - Parramatta V Cronulla
Cronulla ended up winning this thanks to an Adam Dykes field goal, which was the catalyst for one good season from the maligned, inconsistent 5/8th. Useless Eels lock Daniel Wagon places his arm in Beattie's mouth, and then claims Beattie bit him. Beattie is suspended for a fortnight.

Round 20, 2004 - Illawarra Stain George V Cronulla
Unfortunately, the Sharks had to travel to that dump in Kogarah. Dragqueen hack Lincoln Withers decides he's going to try to smash Beattie, but instead bounces off Beattie and hurts himself. Later in the game when he's substituted, Beattie is seen spraying water at Dragqueen benchwarmers. The big man's greatest asset was the fact that he hated the vile Dragqueens and always smashed them up good.

But three of the big man's great moments. I should probably mention the times he was captain too. Suggest some other moments if you can remember.

ALL HAIL BEATTIE.

That was a classic, one of the highlights of the year for me.

Its a pity Beattie is gone, I think he wasnt really up to the standard required these days, perhaps due to age, but no matter his performance his aggression and attitude was always 100%. As for Withers, he has the s**tiest attitude in the entire NRL - he places further shame upon that scummy club

Comment from blocker roach at the time was "well if your hand/arm is someones mouth, you deserve to be biten"

You missed the best one! Beattie gets tackled by Bartrim and some other useless Stain player. The useless player gets a cheap shot in between Bartrims legs onto Beatties head. Beattie rises , sees Bartrim with that stupid crossed eyed grin , then floors him. Classic stuff

Beattie had a top year at the judiciary in 2001. From memory he was charged for high tackles, striking (Beattie's hit on Bartrim), contrary conduct: biting (on Daniel Wagon), obstruction (the most obscure charge of all time, against Stacey Jones) and probably more.

I don't think I'll ever be able to forget the 2002 Semis with Beats going against Morley.

Those two just went absolutely nuts at each other like 2 Semi Trailers. It was great.

Neither gave an inch, and the only reason it stopped was because Beats pulled a Rib Cartillage.

That's my favourite Beattie memory. Rip those frenchies Beats!

I agree with fatshark, the snotting of that little grub Bartrim is my favourite all time Beattie moment. Not just that he hit him, but the look on his face before he did and where Bartrim eventually hit the ground - about 20 metres back. And it was Hart that tried the cheapshot.

Beattie belting Bartrim - that one's my favoutite too. The best part was that Beatts only got him with a glancing blow on the chin. Imagine the damage to the fool Bartrim if it had been a full blooded hit!!!

I also remeber I think two years ago everyone was talking up Omealy. The Dogs played the Sharks on that weekend and Beattie absolutley belted him all day.

I'll miss the big bugger, I always liked watching him play. He never took a backward step to anyone.
My favourite ones are; Lincoln Withers running into the brick wall named Beattie  And Beats turning Bartrim into a punching bag

Morely was getting steamrollered by Beattie until he went off.

There was also the Dragons semi in 2002, or maybe the 2001 Dogs semi where I seem to remember Beattie going on this massive 50m charge.
