The congested 3/4 line

Now that Mini is back, and assuming everyone is fit, who would you guys pick as our best wing-centre combinations?

We've got SKD, Amos and Perrett to choose on the wings. And then there's Maubs, Sa and Sia in the centres. They're all well deserving of a spot in the 17 but i can only see a spot for 5 of them (with Sa in the backrow or bench and perhaps Sia on the bench as well but in place of who?)

So who would you go with?

2. Amos

4. Sia
5. SKD

Sa to the bench and Maubs to premier league.

Interesting.

I actually consider Maubs a certainty for a centre spot based on his form this season.

But there definately is very little between the lot of them so its going to be hard to drop one of them. They'd all be playing first grade at just about any other club.

id put maubs maubs or soliola on the bench sa in the backrow, maybe maubs at lock.

3/4 is the only trouble...
roberts and SKD on the wings...
although SKD might be dropped...
tough decision facing freddy.

You also failed to mention Grose in the contention for a spot... rightly so I might add, i've been very dissapointed with him , especially in defence.

grose is going ok i think...
maubs needs to be in the team...
i have been disappointed with soliola so far this year...
id have soliola to the bench...
maubs has been to good.

I think our issue is that we only actually have one true centre.
Not sure about Pez in the 3 or 4.
Maubs has been good, but everyone thinks his true position is in the back row.
Same for Sa.
Soliola has been in the centres for a while so I guess he could classify as our centre.
I've been impressed with Grose as a utility back. I think he went well at fullback in Auckland.
In saying all that, we haven't really been found wanting in the centres yet.
But it would be nice to be able to lock down a pairing for the season.

where do you put Foley - when is he due back.

He's been playing for Newtown a couple of weeks now, so he'll come into the team when injury occurs (hopefully never).

For how long...;-)

That's crazy talk, he's going to be injury free for years now.

I disagree, last year he was average and unmotivated. However I think that he has had a good year so far apart from a few defensive lapses he has been solid.

Definites are Mini at fullback, Roberts and SKD on the wings. Perrett as one of the centres. The final centre spot, a backrow spot, and a bench spot, have to all accomodate Soliola, Sa and Morbs. With Tupou leaving, they will all fit, but at the moment it is a bit congested.

...and drop Shillington? Mason pushing into prop when Tupou comes on maybe? Shillington is the weakest link at the moment, which is saying alot as he isn't THAT bad. Either that, or drop Riley Brown, but i rate the kid, great defender and versatile.

We are spoilt for depth in every position this year except for halves and hooker, really.

Foley had a blinder in the curtain raiser for state of origin 2. An associate who was at the game said Axle was the best player on the field, this bloke is a league tragic and a wise old bugger, Im sure he said that Axle played at fullback, be a good idea to resign him know before he puts too many good games back to back, hes only just back from his scooter accident, we shoud be able to get him cheap

in the hooker position we have great young talent in rory kostjasyn...
hasnt played FG but will have no problem stepping into the side shall brown and Jaubs be unable to play.

News from up north is that Bennett saw Foley at the SOO and is keen to get him to the Dragqueens, any body heard this?

I hope it's not true, with Mini most likely going to retire at some stage we need a specialist fullback to replace him.

why would the dragqueens need foley

1-5 next year would be

2. Nightingale
3. Stanley
4. Cooper
5. Sailor

foley would either replace stanley in the centres or be in premior league..
