remains winless in finals football.

the only way penrith can win next week is if they punt him out of the club asap.

Elliot is not a curse.

He is a myth.

He relies on his charisma to win over the media to earn favouritism with them.

He has taken a fully fit and largely uninjured Panthers team (over the course of the year) to second spot. The fact the Panthers have only beaten Souths, NQ and Cronulla over the past 8 weeks is irrelevant, but hey, they came second.

Tonight the clueless Panthers relied on their kicks (a la Raiders 03 with the same coach).

Penrith should have been flogged by more but for a stupid, insipid, pathetic English Video
Ref that was sold the DIVE OF THE YEAR by Nathan Smith. That gave the Panthers all the momentum and we were damn lucky Gordon missed that kick.

Back on topic, Elliott is a tool. He kills junior development, he signs fringe firstgraders, plays his pet favourites (Purtell!) and lets face it....would have been sacked years ago if the Panthers had the cash to pay him out.

Elliott? Freakin joke.

He has always obsessed over nuffy outside backs. He thought David Howell should have played for NSW or something ludicrous.

I have to say that Penrith looked very under done for that game.

And I am not detracting from Canberra in saying that.

I am saying that it is like they spent the last few weeks beating up drunks in bars, and were in no way prepared (for most of the match anyway) to fight someone who could fight back.

However, I thank Penrith for at least having the dignity to lose by less than 12 :)

One loss away from a trip to Canberra stadium mate. You have been death riding the Raiders pretty hard.

The Panthers were doing well but went away from the gameplan and resorted to kick and hope again. I think Cooper and Smith were good as well they stepped up in the absence of Frank and Trent, both are potential 80 minute players.

Tim Grant the ace in the Panthers pack made less than 70 metres while Shillo and Tilse made something like 230m between them.

The Panthers could still be a dangerous side for the Roosters to play next week given everyone will write them off and Petero will be back. Roosters could be flat after such a long and tiring clash with the Tigers.

My point is that I cannot open a thread where the Raiders are mentioned no matter how tenuous the link without seeing some Dragon supporter death riding the Raiders. Perhaps you lot don't want to play us

Yeah so? What have you proven so far? Nothing. Good luck next week though.
longest winning streak in the nrl this season currently and have the most momentum of all the teams in the finals. That is something to be respected don't you think?

No Dragon fan bagged us until you opened your figurative mouth.

So so so true.

He had me fooled back in the day, thought he was a great coach.

But no, he is overly conservative, relies on steady teams scoring steady tries, steadily winning matches. In hindsight, am so happy that he walked out on us.

He wasn't that successful in England, he won the Challenge Cup, good stuff, but a knock out comp...

I wonder who his wife was going for tonight...

Elliot is a useless POS. Half way through 2007 I knew he was rubbish and wanted him gone. Much to my dismay we extend his contract.

He loves nuffie, useless players and plays favourites with them, like that POS hack of an outside back Purtell, and that little poncy kicking machine - imposter - of a halfback Walsh.

Elliot is not NRL standard and he is killing Penrith. That will be your legacy you TWAT of a coach Elliot.

I really don't get his obsession with poor outside backs. An honest toiler in the forwards often gets coaches love but surely there are better outside men than the turtle and the howler.

Is it just that he doesn't like flashy backs I really don't know but the best thing David Furner did for the Raiders was sweep out the mediocre plodders and put in the under 20 kids and give them the chance to develop.

Yeah, I've been super critical of Furner this year - ESPECIALLY when it comes to his coaching of the backline - but if we still had Elliot you can bet your bottom dollar Jarrad Croker and Daniel Vidot would still be Toyota Cup players, and Dugan would have left for another club.

Yeah, we lost Junior Tia-Kilifi and brought in Purtell and Dave Simmons. Anyone who has passing knowledge of the game know that Purtell and Simmons are well past their extremely mediocre best.

Oh and we resigned old man Elford as well. WTF? Seriously? Panthers Management give yourselves an upper cut (I prefer a point blank shotgun blast)
