I would like a new football stadium built around the Sutherland area, but shared with Canterbury and ST George...
You want to make Alfords Point the Capital of the Southern Sydney Region? Or Illawong, or Menai?
Across the river to Bankstown area, another few minutes onto Peakhurst and the St.George Region
Thats a different approach haha

I just don't think we have the fan base that would support a move to the SFS. We don't have the history of Souths who did the homebush move or the funds to support nobody turning up like the Chooks. It would be the Bears in 1999 playing out of suncorp, parramatta etc. You become a nomad. Plus the league would turn f**king quickly if we are putting up crowds of 9,000 in a 40,000 stadium - we would legitimately become even more useless. If you decide to move from the Shire you might as well move to Central Coast. Neither of these things are going to happen now as the clubs are funded so well by the NRL.

Come up with a deal between the Government, NRL and us putting in the cash based on us selling the ground to be knocked over for apartments. Build a Southern stadium somewhere in the shire. Or get a take over the golf course across the road from the council and build it there. We don't need two golf courses a stone throw apart. Would the backlash for council be worse doing that or letting the Sharks leave? The NRL just bought that hotel and imagine a new precinct there with a fresh stadium. Traffic would be fun.

Either way the club doesn't need to be based in Wooloware but it has to be a Shire location. Even the rusted on diehards who love Shark park couldn't complain if we got a new stadium in Sutherland or further out within the boundaries. Play into the wider Shire and become that true South Sydney team.

We are about to be the only shit hole left. The NRL will want to support and fix this for us. They aren't going to 20 teams with the view we will fall over.

the ridge probably has the land and size to put something in there. Just no public transport

I still reckon we missed the opportunity to redevelop the SUS club carpark and building at Sutherland.
Redevelop the Sutherland oval precinct into a 30,000 stadium that could be expanded In the future.
Close to Sutherland station, plenty of fields for training and centre of excellence etc

If the crowds we got at Jubilee are anythign to go albeit a small sample size we defn don have the fan base to make a move to the SFS worth it. Unless of course the loss of members and leagues club income pre and post game (when it bloody opens) would be subsided other ways

Fans shouldn't have to travel that far to their teams home ground.

I dont play golf so dont mind the idea, doubt you need to take that much of it anyway. Probably only need a quarter of it.

We are one of the shittiest fan bases in the NRL, fickle as hell; we don't show up unless we are winning and winning well and only for home games and finals.

We'd be lucky to have a band of 3000 regulars that turn up for anything outside of a home game.

In all honesty the only way a new Stadium in the South will be built is if both the Sharks and Dargons use it, both NRL and NRLW, and maybe even Southern Districts RU,plus the occasional Sydney FC game thrown in.
There is no way they will build one just for a single team, unless you're the Riff of course!
