Souths can move to Allianz with zero issues once their contract ends. Roosters can't do shit. The whole spin is weird. It was never about the Roosters blocking it. Roosters can complain all they like but once the contract ends Souths can do whatever they like. Venues NSW or whoever want Souths to carry out the contract as if you took Souths away you only have the Dogs and big events using it. SFS has Roosters, A League, SCG next door etc it is a hub. Homebush has f**k all going on there.

In theory the Broncos could do a deal to play games there. Tigers, Dragons, Sharks anyone could. Bears will use it vs Manly. I don't know why the Tigers don't use it instead of that shit hole Leichhardt - it is under 10km away from Balmain.

Souths issue is they signed a deal with the NSW gov to play at homebush until 2030 thinking it was going to be upgraded. It hasn't and now they can't get out of it.

Rugby League fans and journos are generally confused by contracts - especially when one side enforces it.

I'd like to see 1 or 2 games played there next season and just get a general figure of what the crowds will be. If they're shit like 8-10k, well I don't know what to do.

I can't see them being decent, it's a fair distance for what would be considered your home games.

If Kogarah Oval which is a fair bit closer to go by they wont travel there.
Kogarah Oval is a sh!thole though.

I'd probably go into Allianz, certainly over Kogarah

I have no issue going to Allianz. It is getting home after the game that is the ball ache. Also for smaller crowds they don't open half the bars so the wait is actually worse than Shark park.

So then I would drive. But the time sink now becomes 40 minute drive either way plus the game, parking etc. For finals I can take an uber and put up with a crowd. Doing that vs Perth in 2027 for example would be a struggle to justify with the kids at home.

It doesn't work. NRL knows it. We know it. A stadium at brighton/Kogarah doesn't make sense given the NRL want the Dragons to be south coast focused. Do it lower Shire - loftus or something. Manly, Penrith and every other shit spot has been sorted. We will get done one day.

No need to throw the baby out with the bathwater.

The ground experience will improve once the League's club is back.

There will be more hill space and I'm assuming the top tier of Peter Burns will be back in action?

When you put it like that it sounds like we'd be the envy of the NRL!

We won't be, but when have we ever been?

Look, I don't know why they did what they did to the ground. I swear the hill removal didn't need to happen. No f**king consultation with members etc. Complacency on the part of the fans, trust was broken but when we go a shiny new board we were ever so excited. Just like the one before and the one before that...

When are we going to stop blindly trusting these people to do the right thing?

I think the experience will be better when everything is done though.

I’m negative, but I’m there most home games putting up with the place called Shark Park. I agree though, if they can get their act together the end result will be something… hopefully.
