the draft

what are your team's most important positional needs at the moment. do you think there is depth in the draft in that position for a rd 1 pick??

for the Jets, i think we need (in order):
1. bolster O-line
2. CB
3. TE
4. SS
5. P

in saying this, i think that if TE Heath Miller is still available for the Jets at no.26, they will opt for him. the only TE of an early pick value in this years draft, scout reports say he has the best hands out of anybody in this draft - including WR's. a potentially great pass-to TE. This was a major weakness for the Jets with Becht. but, we still need to strengthen the O-line after the departure of our best young OT-Karem McKenzie to big blue via free agency. there's also good value at CB with Ante Rolle, 'pacman' Jones, and Justin Miller.

The Skins need to fix their offence mainly, but need a shake on the D side too. Williams is a great D Coordinator, but he needs something to work with.

1. D Line
2. O line
3. CB (No Smoot, only relying on Springs... bad idea)
4. MLB
5. QB

The Skins D line is weak, and was only covered by the blitzing skills of Arrington and Washington. We need to get inside pressure to give the CB's an easier job in pass defence. The O line needs to be looked at just because injuries cost us last year. The starters are all great, but there is no depth.

CB is an easy choice as Springs is actually very weak. The middle backer needs to be looked at because there is only age there. The QB situation can easily be changed to WR. Whos fault is it when a QB throws an incompletion, the QB that threw the ball or the WR that dropped it. Either will be good.

For the Packers, I think their glaring needs are as follows

1. CB
2. O - Line
3. S
4.QB

The pack are gonna go up against the now highly fancied, and somewhat deservedly so vikings, and if they dont upgrade at LEAST at cornerback, its gonna be a long season in GB.. also with the departures of Wahle and Rivera, the O-Line is going to need revamping, and with the loss of sharper a decent safety is another pressing need. Lastly, everyone knows as much as favre is a champ, he is NOT going to be able to play till hes 100, so we need to look at a quarterback we can groom for his replacement, whenever that day comes.

I think the Falcons(having a high pick at #27 in the 1st round) should be looking at either another D-lineman to bolster the already strong D-line or looking into grabbing a FS after the depature of Corey Hall, if a good 1st round FS can fall that low down the order.
Also i would love to see them try to get another good WR as Peerless Price didnt complement Vick as well this year as he has in the past and a new young one could help that alot an just add to an improving offence. So my top five would be:

1- DT
2- FS
3- WR
4- T (probably look at a LT rather than a RT)
5- CB

who's the current Greenbay 2nd and 3rd string QB's?
I dont know they're 3rd string but i think the 2nd string is Craig Nall and i think he played late in the 4th during the Packers huge loss to the Titans at Lambeau on MNF last season. Correct me if im wrong though.

LOL at the Jets on taking a kicker in the 2nd round  A knee-jerk reaction perhaps? :D
might appear amusing but, the JETS did very well on day 1 of the draft.

We traded our 1st rd pick to the Raiders in return for TE Doug Jolley who does not need to be nursed through a rookie season. Doug would have to be the best 1st pick this year (which he technically is for the JETS).

K Mike Nugent isn't just a kicker. From a Big 10 college, Nugent has the best credentials of a kicker in years and, won the Buckeye MVP (yes as a kicker) and is a team leader (yes, a kicker). He has a strong head and can also place-kick the ball a mile. Doug Brien had been kicking poorly prior to his implosion in the divisional play-off game @ Pittsburgh.

The dilema for the JETS was whether to pick Nugent up at 47 or wait till 57. JETS targets in the 2nd round were Nugent and CB/PR Justin Miller. As far as JETS mgmt was concerned, Miller was the one who would most probably still be on the boards at 57 as there were teams in between needing kickers rather than CB's. In the end, we got both and ended up filling three needs in the 1st two rds. A starting TE and active K, and a CB who will be utilised in Nickel/Dime packages in is rookie season and will immediately handle the PR/KR duties (is exceptional at returning) vacated by Santana Moss.

I think its the JETS who are LOL.
