damn our PL byes don't give the boys much of a break - round 1 and then have to wait all the way until round 25 till the other! Plus we play the Magpies, Bears, Cougars and Dragons three times and the dogs, jets, eagles and raiders only once which is a bit of a shame 'cause I LOVE playing the jets and Manly plus the dragons three times will be a challange (although beating the magpies 3 times will be fun)

Having a look at flegg now...

The byes are better placed in flegg but the draw is all over the place - again 3 matches against the bears, rabbitohs, raiders (ouch - we have no luck against canberra), and eels and only one against the dogs, rip (damnit!), knights, eagles, panthers and magpies.

At least the two draws match up reasonably well - except round 22 when it seems we're playing the magpies at Leichhardt in PL and at Campo in Flegg - hopefully the clubs will sort that one out between them somehow or at the very least the matches will be on different days

Last year the Bears had a bye in Round 1 and Round 26. But our bye's look better spaced out this year.

It's a bit annoying that they can't organise it so each team plays each other twice. The Bears get Manly, Balmain and Canterbury 3 times and they are 3 very good teams, but we play Parramatta, Dragons and Cronulla only once and they are also tough sides so i guess it evens itself out for us.

It doesn't match up very well for the Bears. 7 weekends we are playing at different venues for Premier League and Jersey Flegg which will make it difficult to watch both grades. Also the Bears Premier League is only playing before the Storm twice.

Thats a bit sucky! surely it couldn't have been too hard to match you up with a few extra storm games

We seem to be playing a lot of our away games at different venues but thats to be expected I guess - the magpies home/away game is bloody stupid but thats the only one I noticed where our home games aren't matching.

thanks girvie :)

yep, I sense another bad year for the CC. :(
I want them to at least win one game this year..
I think if they don't have a better year in 2006 they should probably stick to Junior Reps. It is very tough for them.

Any idea of the exact dates/grounds/times for the first few rounds???

Obviusly if the NRL team are playing they will be with them (in most cases) but for Parra Round 2 NRL are in NZ....... PL and JF are playing Manly.
Any ideas??

I don't know yet. They say they will be announced closer to the time.

I will post them here when they are announced.

Dont think the draw is really fair how each side does not play each other twice evenly. Some teams are up against it from word go having to play ( what has been historically harder teams ) three times during the coarse of the season, and other teams only once.

I have been watching Premier league ( almost every game the jets have played ) since there inclusion in the P/League comp back in year 2000. Jets should be a strong team this season since their deal with the Roosters club which has made the Prem/league grandfinal the last two years running. There will certainly be some talented players wearing the royal blue this season.

Other strong teams in the comp have usually been Eels, St George, Canberra, and the Bulldogs. Having a look at the draw it is interesting to note that the above mentioned teams, ( Newtown included ) will all fairly play each this season twice. So there is no advantage in that fact, which I think is fair.

However ( and keeping in mind player movements ETC ): Grandfinal winners the Eels play: Manly three times ( Manly were a strong side last season )
Magpies 3 times ( Magpies usually struggle to make the eight and their fans would not be happy)
Cougars 3 times ( Cougars were not in this competition last season but are usually a good side ).
Bears once ( Not usually in top 8 )
Rabbits once ( Not usually in top 8 )
Sharks once ( Will be interesting to see how they go re-entering the comp ).

*** Must say Parra with this draw look a certainty at making the eight again****
RAIDERS : Play Knights three times
Sharks three times
Rabbits three times

Manly, Tigers ( both should have a good side ) and Magpies once.

******A pretty good draw going on past teams performances *************

St George Illawarra: Tigers three times ( Tigers should have a good side )
Bears only once.
****** Odd that they only play one team 3 times and one team once and possibly the fairest draw in the competition*************

Bulldogs : Play : Bears three times
Magpies three times
Tigers and sharks once.
********If last season form is an indication this is a pretty good draw for Dogs fans**

Jets play: Sharks 3 times
Rabbits 3 times ( The Jets bogey side ).
Magpies 3 times
Cougars, Tigers and Knights only once.

***** Guess all I am trying to say is that every team should play every other team twice each. They rectified this last season and the comp was fair, They have taken a backwards step this season and its gone back to this again.

Atleast the hstirically stronger teams do all play each other twice but their are too many inconsistancies at the latter end. Take the Magpies for instance. Love the traditional club and they have some of the most passionate supporters in this comp. But they have to play grandfinal winners Parramatta 3 times, Jets ( Roosters ) both clubs finishing the season in the top three teams last year with roosters making the grandfinal and Jets just missing out ) 3 times. And also the Bulldogs 3 times who are usually strong in this competion.

Just think it should be fairer, thats all.
