All the nrl has done in 20 years is add teams that were previously culled (Gold Coast souths Brisbane 2 Perth bears)

PNG will be the only real expansion the game has done and only because the Aussie govt is paying so much

Nz needs another team asap and the stadium situation in nsw and Brisbane need sorting

But with png in the nrl league will basically rate close to double what afl does

The game is set for decades of growth

Vegas is the most exciting thing that could be a game changer for the sport globally especially with major league rugby collapsing give half the league just killed off

I’ve asked this elsewhere but why do people think this is? After a couple of decades of stagnation the game has just exploded. I’ve said my reasons elsewhere but I’m curious what others think.

Rugby league just getting back to where it was in 95

Adding Souths Gold Coast Brisbane 2 and Perth bears has / will help even though the other joint ventures are still a mess

People in nsw and qld gave super rugby and afl a go and didn’t like it and have come back to league

Every union account I see on twitter watches nrl

30 years lost

It's always been a great game but these numbers reflect what is happening on the field is more spectacular than ever.
Players are faster, stronger, more agile and more skilled than ever.
The rules are consistently being altered to get more game time, reward skill speed and athleticism to literally heights we've never seen before. Literally leaping into the air with precision.
The salary cap has kept every club in the race but the pay keeps the best talent in the game, where every club can boast stars.
Contests are more even than ever where golden point drama filled contest keeps everyone on the edge of their seat!
We just watched Canberra be defeated after winning a game twice seemingly in a game that went extra time, then golden point... there's isn't a man woman or child that didn't get entertained by that!
We took our game to Vegas and it's never looked more fitting.

I think all these explanations make sense it’s just crazy how suddenly it all happened. After 20 years of little to no growth suddenly crowds just exploded as have tv ratings and social media presence.

Personally I think the dolphins coming in changed the perception of the game and I think Covid supercharged things. Our game is really well suited to social media which has helped things blow up somewhat.

Still seems crazy how fast it’s happened and I do wonder if it’s likely to continue.

This time they get the Lions and a World Cup. But then they won't see that sort of cash again for 12yrs. (Well 10 after the World Cup).

And slowly piss it all away. I wonder what league players they will throw money at to come across to try and get some press.

I enjoyed Rugby when they had rules that promoted attacking footy. But since the Northern Union decided that a 10 man game is better, and the rules adjusted accordingly, I've not enjoyed it anywhere near as much, and putting it on Stan, well it may as well not exist.

When PENRITH! is strong Rugba Leeg is strong

I think that's when Bulldogs are going well. Ratings improve through the roof. Cause it's not like you guys haven't been winning for some time now. It's only now the Bulldogs have started winning that crowds and audience's are hitting peaks like they haven't before.

We are more like an allsort. We took a little from the Panthers, and as many utility players as we could get. But a lovely pipeline of juniors coming through. I suspect Kiks and Burton will be having there last year in Bulldogs colours next year.

And either way, Bulldogs have always consider the Panthers our feeder team.

Can't believe you extended Gus, you were so close to becoming competitive but that's gone. You needed to follow our blueprint till the end.
