Sorry but Dureau is our best 7 by a mile, and Mullen our best 6 by a mile, and Gidley our best fullback by a mile. One poor game (when apart from Simpson we had no forwards) doesn't call for his sacking. Don't under estimate Gidleys absence either. Dureau has the best short kicking game, is the best organiser, and also has a good long kicking game. For that to work you need some space created by some good go forward, our forwards didn't provide that. At one stage there Wicks had been on around 20 minutes and had 3 hit ups (if you can call PLODDING up with the ball a hit up) Seriously Wicks would struggle in the local comp he's useless. He needs to go. Smith needs to get the engine room fired up because last night they were a non event.Yes, Mullen is our 5/8, but out of all our choices he's also our best halfback! Dureau was very underdone and is not ready for the NRL. I'm not a fan of his at the best of times, but this week, he was DREADFUL!!! I would have rathered Gidley at 7 then watch the garbage Dureau put in. Walsh is obviously a long way off and I also doubt he can ignite any attack at this stage. It doesnt matter what Bailey's doing next year, he is performing well this year for us and we should capitalise on that. Therfore I am a believer in Mullen and Bailey in the halves and second choice combo would be Mullen at 7 and Gidley back to 6. I think that combo would be devastating.
