two different styles of players which has been discussed previously.
Tie his bootlaces? Close..but not there yet.
Mini has been on top of his game since he moved to #1 in 2003...thats 3 yrs of top level consistent football.
If Hodgson can pull off a 2006 like 2005 then yes he can, but whether or not he would get in a rep team in front of anythony is another debate altogether.

It will be very hard as mini is not putting a foot wrong. His origin games have been close to 7-8-9/10 every game, and he shines for australia (player of the tour voted by his peers 2004 and Golden boot 2005)
If he can stay away from mobile phones during rep camps then he will be the origin/Oz fullback for the next 4 yr or so and go down as one of the great great #1s this country has ever had.

In terms of individual brilliance Hodgson was probably better in 2004 then in 2005. In 2004 Hodgson made alot more line breaks from kick returns then he did this year if my memory is any good.

He carried our team to 9th place virtually on his own. Prince was very up and down in 04.

Another top year in 06 (which i think is short priced) is 3 years in a row of outstanding fullback play from Hodgo.

All im trying to do here is say Hodgson has had more then 1 bloody good year, that being 2004. In fact im sure he was brilliant for Parramatta a couple of years when he was there but i didn't watch there every game so you would have to ask their fans.

I agree Eddie, I thought he was better in 2004 than 2005, not to say 2005 was a bad year though.

He has been a good concistent player but is just unlucky he has someone like Minichiello infront of him.

On the Tallis thing, that would be a penalty in any other game and everyone knows it.

If he had dragged him 10ms back over the tryline for a drop out, would it have been the same result?

everyone doesnt know it.
Bill Harigan was the referee...he and Tallis were not "close" so there was no bias

. sadly, Tallis could never pick on anyone his own size - he never went near Hindmarsh.

what a load of crap .....ask ben ross or that pommy forward that tallis punched the sh*t out of .......hindmarsh would not last 5 seconds with tallis

Mini deserves it.
He has been outstanding. Australia wouldn't have won any game at all without him playing. He did SO much for the roosters this year and no other fullback was safer than him. He scored so many tries and has earnt the respect of everyone. He lifted his team up to a new height and set many points scoring records. Forget Johns, Mini its the best player in the world HANDS DOWN!
Finally this result will show the Rugby League community that the selection system is JUST and the awards system is FAIR!

Minichiello - short priced favourite for Golden Boot Award (for Wests fans, thats the award that is given to the best player in the World).

After all this it's not given to the best player in the world just the best player to play international footy. If Hodgo got his shot we all know he is better than Mini... It goes with the best coach award to wayne bennett LOL.

momentum was never stoped, he was fair game and it was the right call
Tallis rag dolled good and proper, that doesnt mean hodgo is sh*t or he shouldnt get another crack at it cause he is awesome and if mini goes down he is first cab off the ranks but Tallis was well within his rights to do that and Harrigan got it spot on

Hodgo and Mini are the clear cut 2 best and inform fullbacks atm, sadly for Hodgo Mini has the runs under his belt and never puts a foot wrong, so i cant see him ever being ousted... btw in my blantantly biased opinion schif in form beat em both hands down :p

golden boot heavily leans towards the rep games, more so international games, hence why Bennett won it.
Golden Boot is no better/worst than the Dally Ms

True momentum hadnt stopped, HOWEVER how often do you see when 2 or 3 players lift a player up and then proceed to carry him backwards only for the refs to start yelling 'Held!'

I'd be willing to bet that if it happened again a penalty would be the result.
