Me and a couple of mates will be up there Sydney Cup day to see the Storm V Dragons at Kogarah. We had it planned to go to the cup then the game but the game is starting at 5.30 so we wouldn't be able to fit a whole day in. Instead we were thinking about leaving after the second last race or something and heading to the game from there. What's the best way to get to Kogarah from Randwick and would it be much of a hassle doing so? If it is just point me in the direction of a good pub with a TAB ;-)

I still cant go away from Murtajill. The horse will more than likely start from Barrier 14 and Jimmy Cassidy will ride aggressively and hope for a sit outside the leaders. The horse has been ultra impressive and i still think it will figure in the finish.

I am also a Forensics fan and have ruled a line through the horses last run. Beadman got caught way too far back on a track favoring horses on the speed and it was still motoring home. D Oliver is no loss and I would not be surprised to see Forensics race a little closer to the speed after drawing on the paint.

I'm a massive fan of Deferential. With any luck in running it wins every race in Melbourne, and look what it did last week when he managed to get a run!! Quinn is my concern, but I'm sticking with it as I have a massive opinion of the horse

Nuffs - i'm working Sydney Cup day.......by the way - who ya playing soccer for this year?

Macca - i'm working at the races next satdy......
will you be going to the races that day to have a punt, or just going to the local near the ground for a bet????
Footy next week...........i guess i can make an appearance!
If you're going to the races i'll give you a lift to the game, if not i'll meet you out there.

The game starts at 7:30 so plenty of time to get to Parra from Randwick.

Reply on this thread and we'll take it from their (exchange mobile numbers...etc etc)

what about this Hawkes decision!!!!

from http://www.racenet.com.au

what the?!?!?!

i was thinking of backing Deferential for a little bit, but not with Quinn on board.
at least now i can cross one horse out of 18 out.

I couldn't believe that. Deferential's slipper trial was outstanding, athough the week back-up is a concern. I was very disappointed in Forensics last 200m last start - but maybe Hawkes had left plenty of improvement.

I'm confused :?

Jugs, I won't be going to the track on Saturday.

Mrs and my 2yr old coming to the footy as well. Will most likely have a few scoobies at a pub near the ground and have a punt before going over to the ground. Usually meet up with some of the eels fans from the forum as well when I make the trip down...

See what the plan is a little closer to the day.

I'm sticking with Forensics in an incredibly open race. I rarely back 2 horses in a race but i'm also going to have a bit each way on Incumbent at a bit of value. I know he's drawn the car park so he'll go back, but that suits his racing pattern anyway and if the pace is on and they go hard up front he'll be flying home and he might be a chance to get over the top of them. He's the only one in the field who's run 1400m so he'll have plenty in the tank with this being a 1200m race.

All well and good in theory anyway

Well done Olly!

Thank bugger I backed it  Camarilla would have been a big chance in that so the tip was right there when they didn't pay up for her so that Forensics got in the field.

Some good ones will come out of that.

I also ended up going with that tip - thanks Woodlands!

Also bagged to trifecta :D

and my opinion on Deferential doesn't change - misses the kick, then flies home to run 5th!!! I'll be sticking with him in the future. Just hope he doesn't become another Crawl where every run makes you back him next start but the pattern continues

Camarilla or Forensics?
The way Camirilla won today I think she was right in the slipper.
Forensics might have won the slipper but is it better than Camarilla?
Looks a special for the 1600m 2yo race so it wins 2 legs of the triple crown and Forensics 1.Who is 2yo of the year and should they have really pulled it from the Slipper?
Easy to say yes because Forensics won but are they owned by the same connections?
Interesting if Camarilla does win the 1600m 2yo group 1.
I wont be betting against it.
Nice bonus for a triple crown too.

Over 1200m I think Forensics will beat Camarilla more often than not.

Clearly the woodlands team has made the right decisions - they have the winner of both races and have increased the stud value of both markedly
